It’s like Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd juggling a hand grenade.
These people have given up even trying to pretend that they care about what their legislation does for or to the American people.
And what precisely is the plan for all those businesses that worked to become compliant and offer insurance to their employees? Oh yes, I know many businesses merely dropped working hours below the threshold, but even that creates a problem: are they now going to bump up hours and pay more to employees who are now without insurance and may have actually liked getting healthcare?
The farce has turned to tragedy and it’s just getting worse.
If you guys just want to keep playing hot potato with health care until you lose the House in 2018, that’s actually fine with me.
(Just tell the insurance companies that this is the real plan so they can expect the ACA to stay in place. You don’t have to tell the rubes who vote for you that this is the real plan, but let’s not blow up the markets for no reason whatsoever.)
So.Much.Doing.Nothing. Sad!
“repeal the employer and individual health care mandates”
Can that be done through reconciliation?
It cannot be a “clean bill” if it leaves blood on your hands.
So what? Both houses want to look good and pretend they accomplished something while drop this turd on their respective others? Basically they’re passing the blame back and fourth like a hot potato?
It was always tragic. They just cover that up with chaos. It almost seems like a strategy. It’s certainly Trump’s strategy. Soil the field, get everybody dirty and fed up, do something heinous to keep the crap flowing, declare victory, and move on to the next field.
It’s tragedy covered in crap. It’s like a raisinet, except the raisin is a piece of crap too. It’s turds all the way down with these people–like a nested doll from their favorite country.
The United States Senate - the world’s premier deliberative body.
UPDATE: The United States Senate - the world’s premier debilitated body.
Relying on Graham, Collins and an unidentifiable third vote to kill a MTP on this “skinny” desperation move is not at all reassuring.
…that got tossed to them by Boris and Natasha.
Surely House and Senate Repubs not on the Conference Committee know that they’ll need an extra pair of Sharron Angle running shoes to get away from constituents and reporters who will be dogging them with questions.
Insurance companies would scream bloody murder if they simply scrapped the individual and employer mandates. It would kill the entire industry.
Hold this for a bit. I’ll be right back.

Just fucking kill this thing once and for all and move on.
Well, I think in a vacuum, with a secret ballot, this turd would get about twenty votes in the Senate. There really aren’t any backers in the GOP, but neither is there more than an ounce of courage.
The entire caucus is a woeful zombie, shambling forward because it doesn’t know how to do anything else.
Republican House of Representatives, Republican Senate, Republican President, and they are incompetent. Failure!
