Discussion: McConnell: 'Very Confident' Govt. Won't Shut Down, Gorsuch Will Be Confirmed

Beat me to it with McConnell’s comment about the “Democrats”. For a guy who is confident that there won’t be a government shutdown, he sure is trying to set up the republican spin for a shutdown in advance.

I think we’re still in the swirling shit stage that could lead to a serious plumber phone call and this certainly qualifies while bringing, for our TV friends, an always enjoyable, possibly fanciful, sexual element.
Plus, for a multi-star possibly aware of honey traps, a curious travel companion…

“I’m confident Senate Democrats are not going to want to shut down the government,” McConnell said.

That line right there is the give away.

Republicans have a majority in the Senate. Same with the House. They don’t need 60 votes to pass an appropriations bill or raise the debt ceiling.

The fact that he needs to even address a government shutdown with his party in charge of both houses of Congress and the White House…says every freaking thing we need to know about the GOP Congress critters. They ARE worried about getting a bill passed (probably more on the House side) for these things.

Otherwise, it would be like me saying “I am confident I won’t get caught in a blizzard, driving around town today”…as I live in Florida. Of course I am confident, so it would never normally occur to me to state that.

Now I’m worried. McTurtle was confident that Trump would be at least a semi-rational president.

Spotting Mitch on TV is like running into Dracula in the mirror section of Home Goods…

Dems got some valuable experience handling gov’t. shutdowns the last few years of Pres. Obama when they stuck together and let the Rethugs work it out. That was good because it gives them a really good idea of how to handle the situation.

Do nothing. Let the Rethugs cannibalize themselves and come to some sort of workable agreement to keep the gov’t running. If Yertle wants to tear the Senate apart on Rump’s watch, so be it.

Shorter Yertle: we stole Garland’s Supreme Court seat fair and square and don’t care what rules we change to get our way.

Yes. The issue for both Ryan and McConnell…is they are worried they are going to need Pelosi and Schumers help to pass these basic bills. And will be savaged for doing so.

Here’s a blog about McConnell in his “peter-puffing” days in the U S Army!
Only a woman that hates herself so much would let this “freak of nature” mount her!

The difference between this time and all those earlier times is that Traitor Don is already shutting down the government, and he needs to be stopped.

I saw McConnell’s bit on MTP…the usual mealy-mouthed answers and deflection. When Garland was brought up, he actually said something about that having been last year and this is now. No dignity to be found in this raging hypocrite.

In Basic, I wouldn’t be surprised finding an occasional twosome fooling around in a foot locker…any available space, any opportunity…But, Mitch (shudder)? I’m surprised the Major wasn’t just “upset” but crying…
Though I’m guessing you mean politically, your “freak of nature” use here isn’t the best way to sell this link, btw.

Hey! Mitch… How’d that ‘Make-Obama-A-One-Term’ President work out for y’all?

If Neil Gorsuch had any integrity, he’d have refused to accept the nomination out of respect for Merrick Garland and the institution of the Supreme Court. But he did accept it, so that means he has no integrity, which means he isn’t qualified for the job.

Once again, when the republiCONz talk, just believe the opposite… or that they will do it themselves. In this case, the fredumb caucus will shut down the guberment just to prove that they have more power than the mainstay dinosaurs of the republiCON party itself.

McConnell, I’m very confident you created this SCOTUS appointment mess!

You are a failed leader and the GoPers need to know that the Mercer Family has put forth $10,000,000 for this SCOTUS vacancy! CORRUPT CORRUPT CORRUPT!

Democrats ought to announce – in advance, obviously – that the price for votes from any of them to fund thengovernment is the withdrawal of Gorsuch and the nomination of Garland. Then wait and see what happens. Or, possibly, the funding of Planned Parenthood. In any case, some sort of compromise where the GOP can deliver first.
