Discussion: McConnell On ACA Attack: Not Wasting Time On Repeal With ‘No Chance’ Of Passing

Yo Yertle if you don’t have a plan in place then you own this you MoFo.

When was the last time Kentuckians rode someone out of the state on a rail?

let us work on some of these more modest fixes that I think the American people need and deserve.

Might want to stick to need there Mitch. After electing worthless p’s.o.s. like you and your boss we’re already getting what we deserve.

Somewhere there has to be a zest for cruelty. Republicans are born with the zeal, it’s the zest that makes their legislation have that extra zing.

"… and let us work on some of these more modest fixes that I think the American people need and deserve.”

“And, of course, by ‘modest fixes’ I mean continued steps to unravel the ACA, take healthcare away from as many as possible, and blame it on Obama and his terrible healthcare law (that doesn’t even now exist in its original and intended form, thanks to us).”

For some reason, that sentence makes me what to take a nap…

Okay what would really make this plot sing would be The Wizard of Oranges responding by bellowing no we’re going to repeal Obamacare and trying to “fire” McConnell and watch the agony as the rest of the Republicans try to figure out how to keep bowing and scraping to Trump while he sinks their chances in the next election.

All they’ve got is zeal. Well, that and treason.

This time they also have a politicized AG who will eagerly purse this genius idea, Mitch’s wish for it to go away notwithstanding.

Mitch would rather " waste his time" thwarting the will of the American electorate…at which he is the very best.

who realize that taking health insurance away from 20 million-plus Americans with no backup plan would be an unmitigated disaster.

Well, not because it would likely drive a significant number of them into health-related bankruptcy and cause a health crisis, but because, ya’ know, someone might not vote for them.

All hail enlightened self-interest!

I agree with the Majority Leader. Passing bills with literally no chance of becoming law, is the House’s responsibility. Senate Republicans’ role is to lose their elections for being the party of why we can’t have nice things.

Yep. McConnell’s strategy seems to be keep jamming sticks into the spokes, keep sabotaging the law so that people can’t fully benefit from it, keep making it more complicated and inaccessible. Then Republicans can wag their heads and repeat that Obamacare is terrible and broken and it’s all the Democrats’ fault.

Obviously, they’ve never had any replacement policy and don’t intend to bother with one. Criticizing Democrats is all they got.

Even Fox News is picking up Trump’s bad habit of saying the quiet part out loud, even if unintentionally.
