Why bring up the last 40 years - who cares? The point is to follow the same standard Mitch himself laid down - don’t obfuscate the issue.
I’m not saying that I’m not surprised by this…but I’m not surprised. :-/ The swamp is definitely NOT getting drained. It’s getting murkier.
I don’t live in Kentucky but I don’t really think she had much of a chance to beat him in 2014 (or probably in any year). Still, her being unable to admit that, being a Democrat herself, she (probably) voted for President Obama (a pariah in Kentucky to be sure) in 2008 and/or 2012 seemed pretty damned embarrassing in and of itself.
McConnell Not Following Confirmation Process He Demanded From Reid In '09
McConnell is a hypocrite? Who knew?
Are you kidding? Having to get in and start looting and trashing the company IS an emergency (to them). They have to do it quickly before too many Americans realize what they’re doing. Thankfully, they’ll have National Social Media Manager/President Trumputin blasting out tweets at all hours of the day to distract everybody from what they’re doing with their “long leashes”. /s
That was my exact thought, or at least the exact theme: “I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for this to get the same traction as the Biden Rule in the media.”
At least it was a footnote on NPR this morning… they’ve been as bad as the rest lately.
A) “McConnell’s office did not immediately respond Monday to TPM’s request for comment.” Then ride him until he does.
B) The GOP Senate seems to have a permanent position for southern hyperpartisan. When Jesse Helms died McConnell inherited it.
timbo, I care. Any thinking person should care. I’m sure it feels really good to give McConnell a stinger, but he isn’t the entire party. The fact that background checks have been done for 40 years means any republican would have to have to rationalize why it should change now. The thing McConnell wrote could easily be dismissed by the rest of the part “hey, that’s McConnell’s issue, not mine.”
