Discussion: McConnell Declares 'No Serious Barriers To Voting Anymore Anywhere In America'

“Not intended to be a factual statement”. These assholes are near clones of one another, aren’t they? Only someone as dumb as McTurtle would believe someone as dumb as McTurtle. He’s counting on that too…

McTurtle obviously lives in an integrity-free zone. Either that or the fucking twilight zone.

It’s true “People who live in GLASS HOUSES shouldn’t throw stones.”

I am sure that what I just read is that “The Turtle” just said that to allow all American Citizens to vote would shift the balance to the Democrats and doing that would just not be right.

Only the breezy, lighthearted, fun-loving, comic-relief type barriers, huh? You need a laugh track, Terrible Terrapin.

At least he admitted that it’s all about suppressing the vote

Trump is the nominee of one of the two political parties. So…pretty fucking stupid.

This logic makes no sense. How would it give Democrats an electoral advantage to pass protections if there are no serious barriers to voting?

If there are no serious barriers to voting, then the protections Democrats seek would do nothing and you shouldn’t fear them.

But it’s Mitch McConnell we’re talking about. He’s the guy who sues against campaign finance reform because he’s indebted to his corporate and fossil fuel overlords.

I had the exact same thought.

If there are no barriers to voting then freeing up the right to vote even more has NO ELECTORAL ADVANTAGE.

If there is electoral ramifications from improving the voting system it means that there must, at present, be desired votes that are not currently being transformed into actual votes. And that’s just a polite expression for voter suppression - which in turn is a polite term for STEALING ELECTIONS.

News Flash!

Republicans lie.

Oh, wait. That’s what they do.

No real barriers, just trumped up ones.

“What was struck down were the provisions that absurdly treated the South differently,” McConnell told USA Today, in reference to the Shelby decision. “They don’t apply anymore. It’s 50 years later."
Ah do declaih, that is just so right. Y'all never see Southerners yearning for their "culture" anymore, or clinging to symbols of the Confederacy, or enacting Jim Crow/poll tax laws to prevent minorities from voting. It's just those Nawtherners and minorities gettin' all uppity and agitatin' wheah they don't belong!

You were doing so well…right up until you unexpectedly swerved off into the ditch over photo ID cards. Somebody has a little more reading to do.

There’s one serious barrier in the Senate to other senators wishing to vote for Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.

“A lot of this in my view doesn’t have anything to do with anything other than their estimation of what would give them an electoral advantage,”

He “knows” this because he believes that Democrats have the same self-serving motivations, and use the same train of thought, that he does.

In his defense, he was only talking about white people with money. He never considers anyone else.
