He is one of the last remaining Republican representatives in California. He was once the chairman of the California Young Republicans, one of those obnoxious true believers that recruit snotty college assholes to learn the dirty tricks of conservative politics. He’s a notorious bonehead and ass kisser. But he’s sociable in conservative circles and Republicans love a conservative fool.
Is McCarthy planning to pull the troops out because we’re in a government shutdown? No? Then she has every right to go, and what’s more, the troops would love knowing the powerful Speaker has their backs.
