Discussion: McCarthy: GOP Will Name Members Of The House Intelligence Committee 'Next Week'

I love the way Nunes unwittingly lulled witnesses into lying -thinking there would be no consequences - and now, finding out Schiff and Mueller are very much interested in the lies and are determined to prosecute on perjury charges. Call it karma or schadenfreude -beautiful either way.

Yes. I hope the proceedings are excruciating for him when the extent of HIS coverup is fully revealed. I am pretty sure Schiff will make his malfeasance quite clear, again and again.

Nunes needs to be publicly shamed, if not formally censured, after the extent of his complicity with Trump is fully exposed.

But that’s just it. There aren’t. They are all stupid lackeys. Seriously, can you name even one intelligent person in this whole conspiracy??

Meadows and Jordon? Who encouraged Trump to play hardball and shutdown the government, thinking that was a winning strategy?

Kushner? Who thought he could bring Dems to agree to pay for the wall?

I could go on and on. Manafort, Flynn, Don Jr., Papadopoulos, Hicks, Bannon. None of them impress.

The GOP has come down to a conspiracy of felons.

We’re waiting to get the ratios? Those were known in December, unless the failure to seat the NC guy was screwing up the math. In any case, it sure looks like foot-dragging. Alternatively, there may be potential arrests or conspiracy on the part of some congress members that would limit their time on the committee. Devin Nunes comes to mind. Also, McCarthy’s own nepotism case still hasn’t gone away.

McCarthy, in other words: We thought we could get away with this shit for longer — because, hey, look what we’ve gotten away with for years — but now Schiff and the others are going public with it and the press is paying attention and asking questions, so we are being forced to appoint people to the committees.

We’re not going to twist your arms. If you don’t want to participate in the committee, then stand aside. There’s work to be done.

I am reminded of that saying: lead, follow or get out of the way!
And they sure as hell didn’t lead. So that narrows their options as far as I’m concerned…:rage:

The hold-up was attributed to the fact that it is the Intelligence committee and they were looking for the intelligent Republicans. Good thing it’s not the Ethics committee. Positions would never get filled.

That’s not really his purpose there ……

It’s to get info back to donnie on what their doing —

I hope he tries it …… BIGLY no-no —

No he won’t. He and his FreeDumb caucus hold no power. None.

This is Speaker Pelosi’s House now. The GOP is no longer in charge of this committee. These GOP slimeballs will take their seats and then helplessly watch the shit hit the fan and smack them right in the face, Nunes first.

I really, really, really can’t wait…

correct ……

Devin’s already been named minority leader — on the committee —

An article in the WaPo said the GOP has not filled its spots on the Rules Committee yet so it cannot take any action either. They offer invaluable lessons on minority rule.

I suspect Nunes is only on that committee to get info on the inner working so he can continue to feed everything back to the WH. When all is said and done, I hope Devin is ready for a cell of his own.

@coimmigrant - per Rachel’s show on Friday, the committees w/out R member are

-Intelligence
-House Admin (Rules)
-Ethics (because why would they???)
-Climate

A virtual Koch list for obstruction.
