Discussion: McCain Blasts Leaked Draft Of Trump Order: We're 'Not Bringing Back Torture'

Grampy Cryptkeeper? Is he still around? Blasts Drumpf one minute, supports him the next…

If we could only harness the energy of his relentless spinning…

“We are not bringing back torture in the United States of America.”

When was it here? I only recall something called “enhanced interrogation methods.” We’ve been assured all along that the United States does not torture.

In February, McCain asked if voters “want a President who will violate the law.”

I think the voters made their opinion pretty clear, Senator. Torture it is!

Yeah, McCain. Sure. Because you’re such a fuckin bastion of integrity. Fuck you, dickhole. You’re partly responsible for this abomination. You broke it, you bought it, bitch.

“citing a draft executive order.”

How long before Derpy-D’s administration starts equating absolute non-control of leakage with transparency?

While I have no love for Sen. McCain, I do think this is an issue about which he feels passionate. His choice of words, however, leaves him an enormous amout of wiggle room, as he claims there will be no torture “in” the United States. In other words, all bets are off if the black site is located abroad.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no agenda in the Trump White House other than taking the things that Democrats/liberals/progressives care about and trashing them. The environment, voting rights, the First Amendment, you name it. If it’s something we care about, they are going to attack it. This has Bannon written all over it, just pure unfiltered toxic reactionary politics designed to divide and conquer. It bodes very poorly for the Supreme Court pick next week. I expect it to be Pryor, if for no other reason than he is the most well-known of the odious conservatives under consideration.

When McCain talks about leaks, it’s usually regarding his Depends. And, of course he believes “the law is the law” except when it comes to the Emoluments Clause of the USC.

I wouldn’t read to much into the word choice. Some of our allies use torture (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, etc.), and it’s not like our authority extends to being able to instruct them on what to do.

McCain asked if voters “want a President who will violate the law.”

America: “Yes.”

Senator McCain. You are an enabler. Nothing more, nothing less (at least on this topic). You enabled this person through your support during the election. I do not expect anything to change now. I do not think anyone expects principled actions from you anymore.

Yes we are, stupid. And hopefully, those black sites will have some awesome music being piped in otherwise we will have learned nothing.
