Man am I glad the Repuritans decided to shoot for the moon this session. And that Fat Tony’s rotting remains are weeping in the ground.
I don’t have the raw numbers available to work this out, but since blue states dominate in more circuits than red states do, I suspect it’s quite a bit MORE than “about half” of all union workers who will continue to be obliged for union fees. It’ll certainly hurt union boosters as against the status quo before these challenges, but incrementally rather than to the bone.
This deadlocked court situation hasn’t turned out so badly so far.
bwwwwaaaahaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Republicans: “Now don’t you libs force me to do it again. Cause’ I will!”
Hey, what’s that line outside McConnell’s door?
Not satisfied with effectively shutting down the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government, the Republicans’ Ron Swanson approach has now effectively muddled the workings of the Supreme Court.
Congratulations GOP!
To all of you Bernie Bros and Susan Sarandons out there saying that if Bernie doesn’t get the nomination you’ll just hold your breath and pout in the corner, THIS!
Elections always have consequences. Fight the good fight for your favorite Democratic candidate, enthusiastically yes! But should your candidate lose his or her fight for the nomination, it’s imperative that you put all of your support behind the Democratic nominee–if you care about civil liberties and especially if you care about preserving democracy. This is no time for tantrums on the left. Leave the hysterical and destructive over-reactions to Mitch McConnell and the GOP as they realize they’re sailing the Flying Dutchman.
Hahaha stupid conservatives! What ye sow, so shall ye reap!
Scalia’s death was a stroke of good luck.
Or maybe a heart attack of good luck. But either way…
Perhaps you should talk to Plucky, Xyxox, Tena, etc., HRC supporters all who wouldn’t ever vote for Sanders if he were the nominee.
DeeeeeeeVine intervention at its best!
Hahahaha, yes!
Wow what a great world we live in now that Scalia has kicked the bucket.
It’s ludicrous that the right to free speech would be transformed into the right to be a free rider.
I wonder whether a similar case will come up again, or if the wingnuts will just give it up. (I can think of so many situations where someone you’re required to pay money to says things you don’t like…)
No. Don’t even. @pluckyinky never said such a thing ever. I can’t speak for the others, but you are way out of line. If you are going to do that, tag them and be honorable about it.
Most definitely – it goes both ways! I will vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee. I pledge that. (Did Plucky say that? I didn’t catch that, and am a little surprised).
Scalia: WTF? They all know how I would have voted. My seat should never be filled and my vote should count. I applaud Turtle and Grassley for not filling my seat.
It depends on who wins the presidency… If it’s a Republican, full speed ahead… If it’s a Dem, they basically give up, at least at the federal level.
Score one for Zombie Scalia!!
I like the dead version much better.
