There’s no earthly reason, no legal or practical reason, why you can’t release tax documents during an audit in the first place. When it comes to releasing taxes, something every presidential candidate has done since Nixon, there are nothing but excellent points in favor of it. These months of stonewalling and the lying excuses for it are an indictment of this reckless, greedy, stupid man’s entire life in business. And the circumstantial evidence that there’s a quid pro quo involved is obvious. Unfortunately there’s no mechanism to force him to release those taxes. That is, without the legal system being involved. But this man and the situation he’s created are insane enough that you can’t rule out any scenario.

If the damned audit materially changed the information the taxpayer initially released that’s a problem for the people he released them to to deal with. The Feds don’t give a damn if NBC News get an incomplete or inaccurate picture, nor whether the facts of the tax return change later due to an audit.

Each time a Democrat says “Where are the tax forms, Donald?” it must be immediately be followed with “The IRS does not restrict you from releasing them!”. Because the media will fail to point this out just as they have time and time again.

Yup. And the 8821 deals with stating people with whom the IRS is allowed to speak, and v-v, concerning your info. Any one of us could post our returns online, and it’s no concern of the IRS’s. We might not wish to do so for many reasons, but this blaming a failure to disclose on an audit as such, is nonsense.

I just saw the Manafart interview on CBS This Morning. When we was asked about the returns and if Russian oligarchs were investing in Comrade tRump’s businesses Manafart’s physical reaction was very disturbing.
There is something in those returns that would not play out well.

Like I said, he’ll quit the race before releasing them. And since there is no mechanism to force their release to the public The Donald will stay on the ballot, and the tax returns will remain in a safe.
