LOL
Before - “Hell yeah,” Maloni responded, while also giving a thumbs up.
After - (shuffles off, tail between legs)

Hahaha…it was all fun 'n games before Mueller started asking questions. How long before Manafort is spotted in Moscow?

and another one-way crank on the vise.

I prefer “tight-lipped” to “leaky as a sieve.” Mueller and his team are not the White House.

About Russia? That’s ridiculous. Who says that? What makes you say that? You don’t I think I know that? That’s so funny that you think that.

Sounds like those drums beating off in the distance are getting a wee bit distinctly louder. Like the child’s game as one takes a step the caller states whether one is getting warmer or cooler. The temperature seems to have gone up a degree or so.

How long before Manafort is whacked in Moscow?

But Manafort’s not tight-bladdered at this time, I suppose:

Never a good sign when the man you’re paying to speak for you…is unable to speak for you.

And you have to pay him even more than before to keep his mouth shut.

Reporter: “What did you tell the grand jury?”

Jason Maloni: “I fed them a bunch of Maloni.”

I’d be tight-lipped, too, if my boss was turning into a Fed Witness against the President. of the USA and ending up running a PayLess Shoe store in West Bumfk, TN, under an assumed identity (Manuel A. Fort ?), while I the lowly lackey gets no protection from the Trump and Russian Mafia.

Nothingburger! Nothingburger! No evidence! No evidence! That’s not evidence! Show me the evidence!

This is how you serve your client’s best interests in a case like this. Not by ranting and blathering about the witch hunt against them and eventually saying something even more damning about their behavior than is already known.

Of course, you never know if the guy is upbeat because he avoided personal jeopardy or because he had a win for his client.

And hey! Another lawyer got a job! MAGA!

Moloni’s pre/post game comments suggests that he was a little surprised at the evidence that Mueller and the GJ showed him and asked him about. Might be the first time someone in the Trump circle actually heeded Kendrick Lamar’s advice to ‘sit down & be humble’.

“As you can see, your man is going down…So, how can you help us, help you?”

Is it unusual for someone’s former attorney to be subpoenaed to a grand jury? Surely that person will claim atty-client privilege and will say nothing.

Yeah, I would assume that’s going to be problematic. Getting around that privilege is one hell of a high hurdle. In effect, you have to demonstrate that the attorney is virtually a co-conspirator, a partner in crime. Law and Order notwithstanding, I have to think it’s a pretty rare occurrence IRL.
