Discussion for article #234769
A pathetically weak response.
I can’t believe Maine elected this guy. Twice.
/smh
Guess we won’t see LePage at a Burger King anytime soon, either. Now they’ve fled to Canada to save on taxes.
It used to be good to be king.
King doesn’t need to “make” LePage the villain. He’s already the villain in the non-fiction category.
I think that being possessed by aliens or the return of a daemonic entity would be too easy an explanation for LePage’s behavior.
Careful what you wish for Governor…
It took him an entire week to come up with a bad joke based on King’s profession as an author? #lepagetheassclown #cantcompete
That would be giving LePage far too much credit for both power and competence, though he does have the requisite lack of sanity…
“beat you with experience”
and exhaust you in the process.
First it was the art work - mural honoring the working man and woman - displayed in the state’s Department of Labor building. Gone.
Banning certain books in schools coming your way Maine. K.V. was right.
Music … anyone?
LePage’s response doesn’t even make sense within the context of what had happened.
LePage: Stephen King moved to Florida to avoid paying taxes
King: No I didn’t, you’re lying
LePage: tHEN mkaaeee mee athe vaillain!!! of YOUR next book!!!
What the hell point does that even make? I’m glad I don’t live in Maine.
The direction to point your finger is at the numbskull Mainers who willingly threw the election to LePage by voting for that preening egomaniac Eliot Cutler. For the second election in a row.
although both DO explain a great deal…and King wasn’t the first one to write about weird stuff in northern, rural New England. Look to Cthulhu and Lovecraft
Bingo!!
Well, LePage made it obvious that he simply can’t “man up”. Republicans cannot admit they are wrong… that’s Ronnie’s 12 Commandment.
If King wrote about LePage it wouldn’t be pretty. Funny thing is, he wouldn’t have to make shit up like he usually does.
But, but, it’s wrong to suggest that voting has consequences. Clearly it was really Michaud’s fault for not “earning” their votes or for running a bad campaign. Or the state legislature’s fault for not requiring a run off. You’re just trying to silence dissent! We will never free ourselves of the bonds of the two party duopoly with that kind of thinking! Also, too, no real difference between Michaud and LaPage.
Hell, King can crank out 800 pages of “I’ll take that dare, asshole!” in a couple or three days.
YOU. WIN.
+1
The old expression was “never pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel.” One updated version could be “never pick a fight with a world-famous author with a fanbase in the millions that will avidly read weekly installments of his next novel when he posts them online over the next six months.”
