Note that Uber doesnât seem to be doing its bit.
I would like to know whether this was a Democrat or Reoiblican official or officials responsible for this.
I assume Republican but would like to know.
This is a typical move⌠make it a civic duty as inconvenient as possible then blovent about lack of participation.
Must have ID here in TN but it is like pulling teeth to get one. Only place in county is in an out of the way, near abandoned strip mall. No transportation within miles. Then it is open for under 4 hours every other Tuesday. Took me over 4 months to get my ID because of limited number of appointments (via ticket, get one at least 2 hours before office opens or come back another time) and other delays. Iâd retired so could come back and come back and come back. However what employer would allow a new employee to take a lot of time off just to get an ID. Also remember, no workie usually no money.
No actual obstruction in the process, just make it as inconvenient as possible.
Itâs not a poll tax, you understand, itâs just that youâll have to spend a couple hundred bucks to vote.
Good for themâŚthis horsepucky the Cons are pulling is egregious. Iâm tired of btching. Itâs time for ACTION. Of course, then jerkholes like Kemp in Georgia pretend that buses are âelection activityââŚI wonder what he will call LYFT?
I am waiting to see if Bird and Lime get in on the action.
Wow, thereâs some PR genius right there.
Hat off to someone.
Somewhere in Kansas, KKKris KKKobach is cursing.
I so hope Kansas sweep his political career (and legacy) into the trash where it belongs.
Thankfully, corporate interests are stepping in on behalf of the citizenry as government is stepping away.
Cannot find the party of Debbie Cox, the Ford County Clerk, who polling responsibilities directly are tied to KS SoS, but just about everyone in KS govt is Republican.
!3,000 voters assigned to the Expo Center 1-3 miles (depending on where one lives) south of town.
Average KS polling place is 1200 voters, although the KS Fairgrounds has 23,000 voters in Reno County.
âWeâve never had a complaint,â Cox said.
The ACLU has.
The organization said it was contacted by a Ford County resident in the fall of 2017 about voting issues and âDebbie Coxâs seeming unwillingness to help or even address the concerns.â
âThe ACLU of Kansas did what Cox should have done â we reached out to Dodge City School Superintendent Dr. Fred Dierksen about using additional school buildings as polling locations,â

Its Republican Kris Kobach who is the sitting SOS and is in a tight race for governor. This is not by accident.
Donât bet on it. Google âGreg Ormanâ to find out why.
Local opinion (Asking Orman to put concern for state over concern of ego)

I donât have either ride service, but this does it, im getting Lyft for my trip out of town. They deserve my money.
Yeah, but he ainât going anywhere. His ego/vanity are much larger than an opinion column.
Uber is still working on growing a soul. Although they did pull out of DAVOS. Itâs a start.
Smart move by LYFT.
Lyft desperately wants to score liberal brownie points with liberal voters everywhere, especially cities that might ban services like Lyft.
Especially important after Uberâs synchophantine Ex-CEO Kalanick damaged the industryâs credibility.
Still wonât use any ride-sharing services myself, but I applaud this action by Lyft. Next: Pay drivers a living wage.
I can only speak from personnel experience. But when I wanted or needed to do something important and some person or group was throwing obstacles to try and stop me it usually always backfired.
I would double or triple my efforts (even if it cost me time and/or money) and made sure I accomplished the task. For no other reason then to give those that opposed me the the (rhetorical) middle finger.
Ah, the genius of capitalism!
