Discussion: Lyft Swoops In To Help Dodge City Vote After The Sole Polling Place Was Moved

Not “stepping away” as much “trying to do anything and everything to prevent the Hispanic citizens from voting.”

I’ve been saying this for awhile now - this is something that liberals-with-money can help fund that actually does some damn good. When Republicans relocate polling places, fund efforts to get Democratic voters to those new locations. When Republicans pass voter ID laws, fund efforts to get those required IDs to Democratic voters, or to get the voters to locations where they can obtain the IDs. Millionaire athletes and celebrities - I’m talking to you. Kneeling for the anthem is great - but do something that makes an immediate short term and long term impact, please.

ps at edit: I was listening to a local news radio report earlier and the discussion was about lines for early voting and about how one problem being encountered is a lack of bathrooms for those standing in line - there are no election laws against funding the placement of some porta-potties for a few days, right?

I have used Uber and I have used Lyft for transportation to and from the farm I partly own in CT when going to the airport.

I have used Lyft for the last year after Uber became uber irresponsible on a couple of rides with them, including some property damage when they didn’t follow directions.

I stick with Lyft.

Fortune does mention that Uber is (belatedly) getting into the game too.

So while they may still be working on growing a soul, they certainly have managed to grow a marketing department that doesn’t want to be too obviously left behind… @pac

I would be hoping for an incinerator after the trashcan, because I don’t want any chance of someone trying to recycle Kobach.

I love that Johnnie Walker is sponsoring this too. Good Scotch owned by a British company. Distributors here in the states of course. It’s odd, but I’m all for it.

Exactly why I almost never use Uber, but I take at least a Lyft or two a week. When you know you’re going to have a bourbon or ten, it’s just smarter than driving even a little impaired.

For the record, I got tagged for canvassing next weekend before the election and suggested about enlisting Lyft drivers.

The text I got said both Lyft and Uber will be transporting voters the day of the election, so this isn’t just Lyft and not just Dodge City. Looks like it’s all of them, everywhere.

Now to figure out how to make sure those voters without transportation don’t have to go searching for this.

I’m pretty sure this counts as obstruction. Fortunately, you were in a position to overcome it.

Used Lyft for the first time to get to and from a concert in Denver…my bad knee made walking the half mile away parking lot unwise. I couldn’t recommend it more, until I read this article.

Awesome news… needs to be shouted out loudly so folks are aware there are options available.

Proof once again (as if we needed more proof), that the REAL coordinated voter fraud is always perpetrated by the GOP.

VOTE THEM OUT OF EXISTENCE!
