Discussion for article #241112

I urge every Republican from a state with a Democratic Governor to resign and save this country from the menace of Republicanism.

while I don’t have much respect for Pinhead Mitch I’d urge the Louisiana GOP to clean up their own mess before trying to dictate to the Senate…

why don’t you urge Piyush to resign while he runs for President… altho being out of your state does keep him from inflicting anymore damage than he has already done…

hmmm… and all of those yammering wdc experts said boehner’s leaving would pave the way to get something accomplished… unsurprisingly, they were wrong. his leaving is going to lead to even more dysfunction and total chaos within the republican establishment.
between trump and the teatards, the wdc-centric pols and magpies just do not know what to do… the genie is out of the bottle and ain’t going back…
this will be an epic battle to the death… of either the teatards or the establishment gop… wonder who will win

What’s damaging the GOP ā€œbrandā€ is much more than McConnel, it’s Jindal, Huckabee, Rush, Palin, Bachman, Trump, Fox News, et al. The fact-free charlatans, nut jobs, and doofuses saying ridiculous things 24/7.

Uh huh.

And this is what Mitch gets for making POTUS a one term President. Oh, wait. that didn’t happen. Well, this is STILL what he gets…

dude - you may want to start a bit closer to home on the senate resignation front. Dont you have a whore-mongering senator who wears diapers?

The base is gonna leave the party? Bull-pucky. Just like the Evangelicals have been threatening for the last two decades. The Teebaggers will not go 3rd party because they will lose their leverage bending the GOP to their will.

Exactly right. And McConnell thoroughly trounced the TP challenge in his primary in '14. He isn’t going anywhere for 5 years.

Which is actually an important point to how these guys think. If they can’t achieve it through voting, they demand it be given to them anyway. They really have no use of democracy.

"Honestly, I haven really thought* of a replacement," he said. ā€œWe are being so beat up by the base. I just was frustrated.ā€

Sums up the teaParty…

OK. But have any of these wingnuts ever given consideration to what’s going to happen when the Tea Party folks are given the ball and a clear field to run in. Do they think it’s going to be good for anyone? America or the GOP? I think Mconnell and Boehner did give that some thought and that’s why they oppose them.

Now that’s a plan. It has always been that the road to success is eased when you limit the appeal of your party to a narrow base at the expense of that broader body politic. Oh ya, that is what the GOP does. Keep narrowing your appeal until you can only appeal to yourself. It is a winning strategy!

These guys are idiots.

Congress gives funds to deport 4 million immigrants.
The Executive Branch is supposed to deport those 4 million immigrants.

So Obama issues an Executive Order saying ā€˜Okay, we’re going to deport the one with criminal records first and say the ones with families that don’t break any laws can get an ID can stay and not have to worry, because you know what? We have 11 million illegal immigrants and we have more than enough to deport without having to worry them.’

Congress then goes ā€˜Hey, hey hey!!! We make the laws! You don’t! That’s Unconstitutional, you Bastard!’ No…you moron. That’s prosecutorial discretion. Learn the law. Idiot.

I’m detecting a pattern here…

Know what you want right this instant? Check!

Willing to lie, demagogue, abuse process, cut your nose off to spite your face and run around pulling your hair out to get it? Check!

Given any thought to the consequences, what comes next or long-term planning? crickets…

Yes, but you must realize that deep down…and they won’t admit it…the GOP/Teatrolls would rather watch the normal families get thrown out, because the criminals aren’t terribly interested in voting and in many cases probably can’t. Aaaaah, but a family with 3-5 kids…that’s a voting flower the GOP/Teatrolls want nipped in the bud.

" the chairman of the Louisiana GOP"
Isn’t that also known as the ā€œGrand Dragon of the KKKā€?
In Louisiana those two positions are pretty interchangeable.

Our future Guvnah, sadly…

ā€œIf we lose the battle, we will never win the presidency again in my lifetime,ā€ he said. ā€œI’ve worked for 12 years as chairman to build this party, and I just don’t want to see it all go down the drain because they aren’t willing to fight for what we believe in. Our base is demanding we do something or they’re going to leave us.ā€

The Chairman is seeing something that does not exist.
Your base is dwindling and dying of natural causes, not of political ones.
You may never see another (R) POTUS-- but McConnell is a very small factor.

If the poor in Louisiana are awakening to the fact that local politicians have been screwing them for political gain? Then that’s a very good sign-- a wakeup call.

Conservatism is in its’ scorched-earth phase.
The kicking-screaming period before the loss of White privilege becomes irreversible.

It will get much uglier before it’s over.
And while it seems like a very difficult time to live in?
I’m thrilled to see it beginning during my lifetime.
