Discussion: Louisiana GOP Chair Urges McConnell To Resign: He's 'Damaged' The Brand

“Mr. McConnell could have suspended consideration of confirmations for all presidential appointees, except for those who are essential to national security, until the president rescinded his unconstitutional executive action on amnesty,” he said.

Villere suggested that McConnell did not fight hard enough to repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood. He said that McConnell’s support for a temporary funding bill that provides funding for Planned Parenthood will hurt the Republican party.

Yes, ***marginalizing and demonizing women, immigrants, and the under/uninsured*** is a great prescription for electoral success. I guess if nothing else it'll actually capture (sadly) most of the Electoral College south of the Mason-Dixon.

“Mitch is a good and honorable guy, but the base is leaving our party,” Villere said.

No your base is dying off. What you should be angry is the cold inevitable hand of death. Or you could bring your views closer to reality. Nah, just piss and moan some more - that has worked so well in the past.

The problem is not so much who will win, but who will lose. The House has been gerrymandered so much that it will be a long time before Dems take it back. What this means is that if the Tea Party takes over as the more powerful faction, rather than a vocal and bothersome minority, the House will be pulled even farther to the right.

Even if their infighting means they are too dysfunctional to get anything done, the country still suffers.

Democrats need to make a case to the American public that we need to focus on state legislatures so that the districts can be more fairly drawn. The only way any of this gets done is by getting money out of politics. The way it is now, you can buy as many state and local elections as you can afford, and super pacs and their billionaires can afford a lot. But this isn’t a juicy attention grabbing issue like defunding PP or immigration.

Seriously? Where are they going? I didn’t know there was a Golden Dawn party in the US.

Mitch McConnell doesn’t care what this rube thinks, but we’ll see.

I continually find my self amazed at how utterly unalarmed and unconcerned the MSM asshats appear to be over the fact that the modern GOP literally believes that if it doesn’t control the presidency and both houses of Congress, its politicians’ sole legitimate objective is to bring about a continuous Constitutional crisis to extort that which it could not obtain at the ballot box.

This is where we are. This is what Boehner’s ouster means. And yet, on Planet Asshat, It’s just about the horserace.
