Discussion: Local Fox Station Edits Protest Footage To Sound Like 'Kill A Cop'

back in 2003 FN lost a a lawsuit by a reporter, Akre, for the right lie. It was later overturned on appaeal in the Forida Supreme Court.

Yes, but, some media-challenged fringe member of the protest group will acquiesce and give Fox more fodder to distract from their original sin. Rinse, repeat.

When, what program and who said that? And since their news shows which make up the evening hours are rather carefully monitored, when was the speaker fired? (for that egregious event, they usually fire the person)

They should be sued for slander!

Fox News edited Jimmy Hoffa Jr’s Labor day speech: http://mediamatters.org/blog/2011/09/05/fox-doctors-hoffa-speech-to-fabricate-call-for/181254

Then Fox edited Obama’s speech on Ferguson: http://www.politicususa.com/2014/08/15/fox-news-edits-video-president-blame-obama-violence-ferguson.html

Less than two weeks they did it again on another Obama speech: http://mediamatters.org/blog/2014/08/26/fox-deceptively-edits-obama-speech-to-accuse-hi/200560

Looks like all of us are going to have to rely on the unbiased non edited news reporting of CNN !

What the fuck is the difference? He either knew or believed the kid was black, then found out for sure. His response indicates his belief at the time and shows that his suspicion of the kid was, in part, fueled by his perception of the kid as black. The meaning and import of what he said wasn’t at all changed by the fact that the 911 dispatcher’s question was omitted.

In contrast, this Faux affiliate blatantly and egregiously changed the meaning of what was being said…even to the point as to present it in a manner that it appeared to be saying something entirely different and far FAR more incendiary. There’s no fucking comparison to be had whatsoever and your constant attempts to negate the racial aspect of incidents like what happened with Zimmerman and Trayvon or Wilson and Brown is serious evidence of either gross and reality-denying bias (and yes, we know what kind), mental illness or both.

Fox has been pushing for a race war for a long time. It’s what their audience wants.

This is exactly what we need right now.

You have to understand that the bearing of false witness is the only thing Fox now has to hold their viewership together. Although viewers will now loose their souls for watching, Rupert Murdoch feels that is OK as long as it makes him money.

Was it NBC or MSNBC who did this? You seem to be conflating the two. According to the WP article, it was NBC; specifically, the Today Show (which, IMO, hardly qualifies as “news” – it’s closer to “Entertainment Tonight”). I don’t understand how MSNBC got dragged into this.

This is why Fox News is called “entertainment” and not “news”. Although I have to say they fail pretty bad at being entertaining,

And it will work. his is the easy-out for bigots, idiots and the lazy-minded. In other words, plays right to the GOP/“conservative” base and Fox’s key demo.

why can’t the DOJ step in and stop fox from intentionally trying to get cops killed to make blacks look bad? Thats exactly whats happening here they are trying to motivate the crazies.

This the kind of stuff that used to appear in Russia’s Pravda and Izvestia – altered photos and statements.
Pravda means “truth” and Izvestia means “news”.
Russians used to say, “There is no news in the truth and no truth in the news”.

So Fox Baltimore has made a major Orwellian gaffe.

And this is all Fox viewers will see and not a correction of it.

The right wing says and does anything for propaganda, at least since clown Reagan.

Well, Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart would probably disagree with you. They both owe much of their success to the fact that the stupidity and asininity of Fox News has made them famous. The really funny thing is that even Fox News admits it by claiming that Colbert owes their success to them precisely for this very reason.

Fortunately, for Fox News, who specialize in appealing to the 100 IQ and below crowd, the most gullible of the gullible, the concept of irony simply goes right over the head of their audience. If it didn’t, the systematic bearing of false witness wouldn’t be such a great business model for them, which is quite a remarkable fact in and of itself, considering that there is no moral standard below which Fox News won’t go to make money for Rupert Murdoch, a well-known worshiper to the Golden Calf.

That would be the work of Sinclair Broadcasting whose headquarters for their many stations are here in the Baltimore area. Their tactics are not new and have spawned a few protests over the years.

It is already working. I just heard a Los Angeles police representative, being interviewed on CBS radio, talking about morale, saying it was hard not to be affected when protesters were talking about killing cops.

Surprise, surprise, Fox News distorts the news and the truth.

Wow. Must be end of the world is coming!
