Discussion for article #234645
You know for the first time I am actually slightly optomistic about the ability for the US to do something about climate change. I donāt think any action will come quickly, but it seems the Republican party has been very much softening their stance as of late. Weāll see.
Lindsey, Lindsey. The problem for Republicans may be faith-based, but the belief that anything supported by a Democrat, even if solidly based in data, cannot be supported by Republicans is a Republican tenet. Democrats are quite willing to adopt good ideas no matter where they come from: health insurance, for instance.
Saying the GOP hasnāt done anything about climate change because Al Gore is fat wouldāve made more sense.
Ummm, yes. Al Gore was for taking action on climate change so clearly the GOP needed to be against it. Damn you Al Gore!
You know what else, in 2002 he came out against unilateral war in Iraq. The man is pure evil, driving America to make catastrophic mistakes by the sheer force of his analytical ability.
What is the environmental platform of the Republican Party? I donāt know, either,"
This is rich in a way only Graham Crackers could do. People heaped scorn on Al Gore and the truth telling of An Inconvenient Truth but apparently sitting on their hands works for Rs and especially the nitwit in the Senate Inhofe who chairs the committee which would potentially deal with global warming issues.
āTodayās conservatism is the opposite of what liberals want today, updated daily.ā
What, you canāt pin this on Obama?
Go snort some more Koch.
Ahv always depended on the kindness of strangers but Albert was not kind!
With that in mind, Iām reconsidering my stance on gun control and abortion.
Trojan Lindsey Graham: āMaybe if Cassandra hadnāt been such a bitchā¦ā
But the problem is Al Goreās turned this thing into religion.
No, Lindsey, that is what is called projection. The Republican Party made knee-jerk opposition to anything said by Al Gore into religion, damn the costs to the country and the world. Al Gore pulled together a presentation based on the best scientific thinking availableāand thatās all. No āreligionā to it. That was you people.
Lindsey Graham should go back to the one thing he excelled at, i.e. his starring role on āPetticoat Junction.ā
āI said that itās real, that man has contributed to it in a substantial way,ā Graham continued. āBut the problem is Al Goreās turned this thing into religion. You know, climate change is not a religious problem for me, itās an economic, it is an environmental problem.ā
No, no, and no. Your party turned climate change into a religious problem when you decided that getting all that good, sweet Koch money was more important than your children and grandchildrenās future, and decided the best way to make the base fall in line was to paint climate change as being in direct opposition to creationism.
āSen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he didnāt know what the Republican
partyās environmental platform is, but he does know that GOP inaction on
climate change is Al Goreās fault.ā
When did Al Gore join the republican party? I missed that. And when did Al Gore become responsible for what the GOP may or may not do?
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he didnāt know what the Republican partyās environmental platform is, but he does know that GOP inaction on climate change is Al Goreās fault.
Ladies and gentlemenā¦ the Party of Personal Responsibility.
Yep, thatās about it. āWe canāt be in favor of addressing climate change because a Democrat rallied around the issue first.ā Itās utterly childish. āI donāt like Gummy Bears if she likes Gummy Bearsā.
I think the Republican Party has to do some soul-searching. Before we
can be bipartisan, weāve got to figure out where we are as a party.
I can think of a hundred topics where this statement fits the GOTP.
So conservatives wonāt do anything about it because a āliberalā was one of the first to sound the alarm? What petulant children.
I did not realize the Republican Party was so weak-kneed when it came to Al Gore. Seriously, Lindsay (my proper spelling), you guysāand few galsācouldnāt accept something that is increasingly scientifically proven ā¦ because Al Gore got there first?
