Shorter Ron Paul - I don’t stand for anything.
Yet more reasons not to like Stein.
“When that is done, the politician is embarrassed. I would like to ask the interviewer some snap questions, like ‘Who’s the president of Switzerland?’ Most people don’t know. But, it should not disqualify you.”
Disqualify you from being a news interviewer? No, I don’t suppose it would. But a candidate for president really should know the name of the key battleground in Syria, FFS. And he should be able to name one - ONE - foreign leader he admires, also FFS.
(Stein’s) probably the best on foreign policy at the moment," Paul said
So he’s a Putin fan?
Who knew?.
“When that is done, the politician is embarrassed. I would like to ask
the interviewer some snap questions, like ‘Who’s the president of
Switzerland?’ Most people don’t know. But, it should not disqualify
you.”
Is that a trick question or does Ron Paul know less about foreign affairs than Johnson?
FYI…
Switzerland has 7 Presidents as Head of State. Yes. Switzerland doesn’t have a President or Prime Minister acting as a Head of State nor a Head of Government like in USA, UK, Nigeria, or Zimbabwe. The country is managed by a seven-members Council which is considered as a collective Head of State.
Ron Paul on Jill Stein: “She’s probably the best on foreign policy.”
Because if anyone embodies Libertarian opposition to government tyranny, it’s the candidate who pals with Putin and stars in Russia Today programming.
There was always a huge overlap between the old RON PAUL guard and a certain flavor of the Bernie Bros, so not a huge surprise that they’re now consolidating behind Stein. Stein’s cuckoo VP candidate probably shares a lot of Paul’s “The Jews orchestrated 9/11” conspiracy theories.
Perfect timing. I was trying to come up with an answer to the question “who is less relevant than Jill Stein and Gary Johnson?”
Of course not. He will be, as always, voting for RON PAUL.
I’ve been saying for years that Ron Paul is not a libertarian. He’s a Republican with libertarian tendencies. He’s also crazy.
This election is starting to make me question reality. Am I dreaming right now? Is this stuff really happening? It’s getting too weird.
But he said he feels Stein’s policies have a libertarian bent.
Which tells you everything you need to know about the Green party candidate.
It’s gonna be a lonely party on election night.

I misread the title as “Libertarian loon Ron Paul…” Tomato, tomahto.
At the end of the day, I think that libertarianism is the total embodiment of the “No True Scotsman” fallacy. Because adherents of the school of thought lionize “rugged individualism,” they inevitably turn on each other when they disagree on some arcane policy point. No one can truly be a libertarian because they all break the “orthodoxy” in some way, largely because they all define the orthodoxy to suit their own individual wants.
So when someone like Ron or Rand Paul or Gary Johnson bombs out, it’s not because libertarianism fails as a theory, it’s because they weren’t pure. Libertarianism cannot fail, it can only be failed by impure poseurs. Onward Goldbug soldiers! The next libertarian icon (loon?) will be the true individualist messiah.
Naw, as a true racist/fascist jerk, he’s voting for Trump!
Well, at least he knows who his imaginary friends are.
I’m pretty sure that Ron just hurt them both in one fell swoop.
I always thought that the ‘Green Party’ was about the environment and conservation, shit like that. Or weed even.
Ron Paul is talking National Security or anti-National Security possibly and is always bent on wars.
That isn’t a ‘Green’ subject to me, it’s basically mainstream and a top-o-ticket item for Republicans.
In a nutshell, Libertarianism is the ideology of wanting to have your cake and eat it too, preferably while stoned to the gills.
