Lewandowski gets more money and exposure from CNN to tout Trump’s candidacy than working for Trump afforded him. Donald should let more of his staff go, with the understanding they’re in line to be hired by a news network immediately thereafter. Why pay for television ads when you have someone on every channel on the dial getting your views out several times a day?

The problem is that it was a red six point star, not a blue one. That isn’t to say that the people who created it wasn’t intending to imply a Star of David, or in fact also imply Communism. There was a time in this country when Jews were heavily linked in people’s minds with the Communist Party. Might have something to do with all the Jews that the White Supremacists in Germany were sending to their deaths.
In some people’s minds, the star in that picture was designed to grab attention. In the minds of the people who created it…it’s an anti-Semitic jab at Clinton while also implying she’s a Communist.
BTW…someone tell Lewandowski that a Sheriff’s Star is typically five pointed not six (yes, there are six pointed Sheriff’s stars, but in the minds of most people, they are five pointed.

I don’t know why I typed blue instead of red. That’s what happens when I comment before having coffee. But you’re absolutely right, “Jewish Marxism destroying Western civilization” was literally the whole reason for the Holocaust. Definitely meant to be anti-Semitic.
Damn it, whether or not Trump is himself anti-Semitic is a red herring and Lewandowski knows it, and any journalist who accepts that as the premise is being duped. Trump has repeatedly played footsie with the alt-right, sending them messages that he welcomes their support and occasionally making perfunctory, grudging denials that they understand implicitly as necessary for his mainstream audience. There is no question about this for anyone who’s been watching closely enough, it’s an established pattern. Trump himself cheerfully uses any kind of idea, no matter how scurrilous, that he thinks will help get him what he wants. When you’re bringing the vilest, most dangerous sort of American subcultures into the mainstream, it doesn’t much matter how many fucking parades you’ve led.
ETA: I think the other people did actually get the basics right pushing back against Lewandowski on this. Could have been a bit more explicit about how this seems to work but I wouldn’t say they rolled over.
