Probably because Trump’s lawyers have made it clear that they will sue anyone who carries it. So, they back down like the cowards they’ve become. My best guess.

So, the campaign now claims some functionary working for Trump and not Trump himself created the image? Or, are they claiming since a proper star shape appears in a MS clip file, the actual creating Nazi had no antisemetic intent?

The Trump campaign’s response to charges of anti-Semitism should be taught as a master class on making a bad PR situation 100 times worse.
Today marks the fourth day we are talking about this. The campaign’s response is why. And at this point they’ve backed themselves into a corner so they really can’t apologize. And can I add that it is obscene that Lewandowski is being paid by CNN to be a Trumps spokesperson. Wrong on so many levels.

Yes, instead of talking about the fact that terrorists tried to blow up Muslims at the second holiest site in Islam, and that those terrorists were likely from ISIL and that the entire Muslim World is pretty much condemning them and pulling together.
But Trump being an anti-Semite is more important to the US Media.

Right, just like George Bush and Karl Rove had lots of friends who were gay didn’t matter when they went out of their way to demonize gays as a way of 2004 GOTV among conservative religious voters. They were willing to benefit from the slimy prejudices of their supporters and that makes them actually worse than their supporters – whose views are honestly held even if they are repulsive.

With reference to Trump’s floundering explanation of his anti-Semitic tweet, it perfectly reflects the horror that Trump exploited with the idiotic attempts proffered to explain it away. It reflects the wholesale dishonesty and danger of his bigoted and hate filled campaign. I respectfully disagree that any line was crossed other than the obvious one Trump’s tweet crossed.

Lewandowski signed a “strict” non disclosure agreement with trump and it’s supposed to be in force even though he’s left the campaign. He’s legally prohibited from talking about the campaign, but CNN has him there for just that purpose. He’s a highly partisan operative who is still promoting the the candidate.

That’s the boss. It’s a maxim of his that you should never apologize. Between that, and the stream of absurd lies, these things go on and on and on. It was the same with Lewandowski himself. All he had to do was apologize, but that wasn’t the path they chose.

Same with CBS and MSNBC this morning…the balancing continues. Someone on CNN even said, “Why yes, Nixon was a known antisemite.” But this aspect of Nixon wasn’t fully understood until the release of the Oval Office recordings.

He went on to cite Trump’s “long and storied history” of leading parades and supporting Israel as evidence the tweet was not intended to be anti-Semitic.
False equivalency. “Supporting Israel” is usually for political or end-time religious nutty reasons – this does not equate to a shield for one’s anti-Semitic attitudes.

There is absolutely nothing cheap about the point made in the picture. Trump exploited the situation with his use of the star and he made it worse with his explantion. The pictorial representation of the inmates reflects the status as prisoners and does not cheapen their situation. We will have to agree to disagree.
