I feel like the phrase “without precedent and crazy” could apply to this entire administration.
I was gonna say: without precedent and crazy?
That’s my Trump!
Goes to show that publicity stunts always end badly for him
If this so-called "Election Integrity Commission had any integrity whatsoever its primary mission would be to root out, expose, and take aggressive legal action to eliminate the voter suppression laws that have been sprouting up like malignant weeds for years in Republican dominated states. But seeing as Mike Pence, a vocal defender of voter suppression and Kris Kobach, the crown prince of voter suppression evil lead the committee, there is little hope for that.
No, they will just go ahead wasting our tax dollars defending the indefensible so that maybe, just maybe our so-called “President” will no longer have to live with the fact that his opponent in the last election got more votes than he did.
In a nutshell…
MAGA = WPAC = WTF
The case likely has merit, and the language is some fine trolling, which may elicit an interesting response. Is the Veep subject to the Hatch Act?
Donnie + Kobach + Spakovsky = scalding hot mess
In addition to personal and political information, the committee requested information regarding voters’ potential felony, military and overseas citizen statuses.
Ironically enough, this is what the Special Counsel wants to find out about Comrade Trump. Maybe he can be the first to cooperate?
The photo of The Apprentice and Krissie Kobach shown above looks like the poster for the movie- “Dumb and Dumber Redux” . I guess Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have been replaced by these two shady conmen.
Feeding the narrative that liberals know that there are millions of illegal voters and don’t want to do anything about it because they vote liberal.
Absolutely. Anybody employed by the federal government is covered by it.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center’s lawsuit on Trump’s election rigging commission … now that’s “a heavy move”!
Last I saw we were up to 40 states refusing to comply with the request. Does anyone know if any of the states have complied with the records request, and if so which states? Any Secretary of State that complies with this request should be challenged at the polls next time they are up for election.
“It also accused the commission of violating the E-Government Act of 2002, which requires a privacy impact
assessment be completed and made available to the public before the collection of personal information by the federal government using information technology. No assessment was conducted before requesting
voter data, the suit alleges.”
This commission can be officially declared a farce. Just because the President wants this information does not mean he gets it. Laws do apply to him.
41 have refused–what about the other 9? Has any state agreed to comply?
FOIA laws in some states require them to comply in part. Much of what they want is not available to anyone who walks in off the street -SS#'s DL #'s, phone #'s and other info too. Kobach had to know this -he is a Secretary of State. The big red flags are the last 4 digits of the SS# and DL# -the commission suggested making all of that information public. Identity theft anyone?
Colorado for sure.
Most (if not all) states will have to comply to some degree, because the voter roll is a matter of public record.
No, actually not. The Act contains exemptions for:
(i) an employee paid from an appropriation for the Executive Office of the President; or
(ii) an employee appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, whose position is located within the United States, who determines policies to be pursued by the United States in the nationwide administration of Federal laws.
In short, POTUS and the VP are not covered, along with a raft of other high-level officials.
Edit: Digging around, it’s tough to find examples of Federal employees who are exempt, other than POTUS and VP, and White House staff. Cabinet Secretaries, for example, don’t seem to be exempt, and have to be a bit careful about doing “political stuff” while they’re on the job. There are a bunch of exemptions for state and municipal positions, but that’s not relevant here.
