Discussion: Lawmaker Who Lamented 'Welfare Crazy Checks' Insists He's Not Racist

Discussion for article #233306

Reminds me a bit of Monty Python…

ā€œI’m not deadā€

ā€œHere, he says he’s not dead.ā€

You know, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, floats like a duck and it isn’t a witch, it’s probably a racist.

Now here is a crac–man who just knows that some of his best friends are black.

Racists never see their own racism.

It’s even worse in Mississippi—because those racists also lack whatever it is that makes us human.

It wasn’t the reporter who made him look like a fool. It was his barber.

I don’t see any schools hurting," Alday (pictured on the right) said in an interview with the Clarion-Ledger highlighted by ThinkProgress. ā€œThe people are electing superintendents that don’t know anything about education.ā€

ā€œI come from a town where all the blacks are getting food stamps and what I call ā€˜welfare crazy checks.’ They don’t work,ā€ he continued.

Yes, saying every black in your town are getting food stamps and what you call crazy welfare checks and don’t work but there is nothing racial in those comments. You are a bigot that loves racist stereotypes but there is nothing racist about you except when you open your mouth.

He’s not racist, he says, because he did not know his comments would be included in the article by the reporter who interviewed him?!?

Today he should have just said ā€œI’m not racist, just stupid.ā€

Surprised he didn’t say that 'When I was in the ER I had to wait because people on Obamcare were in line in front of me."

OK he says his words were ā€œtaken out of contextā€ but how do you put words like that in context that makes them OK?

Kind of like hating on the government while sucking the lifeblood from the government.
Excluding himself, Rep. Gene Alday, hates everything about government, especially the free Cadillacs and lobster giveaways that the blacks get. But this isn’t about blacks or the government because those things live in his neighborhood. Got it.

Its ok for white western ranchers to get welfare. If you are black, not so much…

Well, at least now the black folks in his little town with their ā€œlittle civil rights walksā€ know how this asshole talks about them behind their back. Saying his comments we’re meant to be ā€œoff the recordā€ sure shouldn’t let him off the hook by any means. Maybe now he’ll be voted out, now that he’s let his true colors show through. Maybe his pandering days are coming to a close. He can’t bullshit his way out of this one.

I think Thomas and Carson are booked this weekend, though.

ā€œBut they’re good people.
I don’t have anything against anybody.
I’m a straight-up guy.
In my little town they had little civil rights walks and I was with them.
I’m with everybody.
Except them shiftless n^ggers.'ā€

Love to have access to Rep Alday’s personal email account.
