Discussion for article #247539
Given what Trump said in a nationally televised debate about her husband, that has to be one of the dumbest questions Laura Bush has ever been asked.
Any quote from Laura Bush should necessarily include “She said, with a doll’s dead, dead eyes”.
I find it funny her face is starting to morph into Fiorina’s, though.
She also said the country has “become sort of isolationist and xenophobic” at other times in our history, according to The Hill.
sort of???
Few if any major players in the Republican party, save Romney, are willing to give a full-throated, very public repudiation of Trump and declare they will decline to support him. That speaks volumes to their personal code of ethics and morals. If, in some hypothetical scenario, David Duke or Pam Geller or Ann Coulter were in Trump’s position, the leading candidate for the Republican nod, would they still decline to voice their disapproval? In fact I think they would remain silently neutral or get behind anyone against a Democrat. They’re sick people.
Right. Trump will lose at least 40 states, and maybe more. And Republicans will have no one to blame but themselves.
No, most of their full-throated stuff is quite the opposite.

@estamm - I hope you’re right. Fact of the matter is, Trump’s downfall has been predicted for a long, long time now. Still hasn’t happened, and I still haven’t seen any evidence that Hillary can run a campaign worth a damn.
And Laura Bush’s full-throated response is different still.
Tell that to the Sanders’ campaign.
Laura Bush On Whether She’s Voting For Trump:
“Of course I am”, gushed Laura. “I just love stupid morons. I married one, so why shouldn’t I vote for one?”
I think she meant isolationISH and xenophobISH
Laura Bush, dear friend and decent person married to failed incompetent POTUS. He allowed 9/11 on his watch. Sad! #TrumpHaiku @joshtpm
Right…the presumptive nominee is winning, but not very handily. She’s Goliath barely beating David.
AFAIK, she has won one campaign, ever?
Laura Bush has never struck me as an evil person, any more than Pat Nixon or Mamie Eisenhower. She’s a conventional Republican, whose quiet personality would fit very well within my extended family, which is full of garden-variety conservatives that used to be the norm.
Barbara Bush? That’s an entirely different thing.
More than 300 delegates and 2.5 million more votes than Sanders is not “barely beating” Sanders. Ms. Clinton actually had more votes than Barack Obama in the 2008 primaries.
Your “concern” is duly noted, however. Please proceed.
Laura, I don’t care if you’d vote for Drumpf. I want to know if you were foolish and evil to the point of voting for President Cheney.
Republican version of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
All you need to know about the grey-hair’d bitch is this: Barbara Pierce Bush. Pierce, as in Franklin Pierce (a cousin, not a direct ancestor). She’s from a political family and she married into a political family. 'nuf said.
Of course she won’t support him, she’s a reader. I remember her saying once upon a time that she was a Republican by marriage. I’ve always had a little sympathy for her.
