“Our goal,” Blevins said, “is to make as many Kentuckians as possible resemble the perfect hybrid of Cleetus Spuckler and Quincy Magoo. We hope this will ensure a GOP majority in the Statehouse for generations to come.”

The state Cabinet for Health and Family Services calls the cuts an “unfortunate consequence” of Friday’s ruling by a federal judge.

No, the cuts are an unfortunate - but predictable - consequence of Bevins and other Republicans being cruel, shameless assholes.

“Gov. Matt Bevin’s administration is cutting dental and vision coverage for nearly a half-million Kentuckians…”

Shorter GOP: “The beatings will continue until morale improves!”

Your move, Kentucky voters.

The future is (literally) in your hands…

The Repubs love to interpret (or torture) the U.S. Constitution and state constitutions in their favor and in general ignore the “to provide for the general welfare” clauses. Resist!

Does anyone know if the state legislators get their health insurance through the state? If so then I say it’s time to stop providing any elected official access to state employee health insurance. That should save the taxpayers some bucks.

the state would have “no choice but to make significant benefit reductions.”

It’s so weird when you hold yourself hostage.

Once again, the Republicans show how they are the party of personal responsibility by blaming a judge for the heartless actions they want to take against he poor and underprivileged. Such bravery on their part.

"the state would have “no choice but to make significant benefit reductions.”

Right, because the KY constitution has no provision authorizing the levying of taxes.

“We know that untreated dental pain is a huge gateway to addiction to painkillers,” Jenkins said.

Not only opioid abuse but bad gums can lead to heart disease. Call it the make Cletus sick act.
I’d love to see a qualified doctor politician run against Bevin when he is up for re-election.

So Gov. Bevin is attacking the poorest, most defenseless, and most vulnerable of his state’s citizens out of revenge for a Federal Court decision? How Christian of him!
