Discussion: Kobach Defends Remark On Obama Not Prosecuting Black Criminals

Discussion for article #234017

Not surprising, self-righteous jackasses usually double down to prove their bona fides as a jackass.

The DOJ declined to prosecute Officer Wilson, so according to Kob-logic, Obama is refusing to prosecute white criminals, right?

To provide some context here, before becoming the Secretary of State, Kobach helped Arizona write the immigration enforcement laws, parts of which were later found to be unconstitutional, and he’s been a national leader in helping write voter-fraud legislation. So, you can kinda sorta see that Kobach has a thing for trying to make the law work against minority and other politically-disadvantaged populations.

He is one nasty m-fer. He’d never back down - but will double down. I hate how they disrespect this President, I believe in Karma and he Iand the rest of the racist pigs) will get their cumuppance.

Just google his name and all kinds of nasty show up. He’s the ultimate scum bag

And yet, a public office holder elected by the good people of Kansas, which could be something, appearances notwithstanding.

I made it clear I don’t think that’s likely to happen."

It seems to me that you made it quite clear that you think it’s going to happen.

But I guess it’s a small tiny step forward that he’s actually being asked to account for his remarks.*

*Nope. Not at all. Our current President has been disrespected in ways that were unimaginable until, you know, they actually happened, starting with “Make him a one term president” McConnell (which, in isolation, isn’t disrespect as much as it is the opposition party being unusually candid), trickling out with Joe “You Lie” Wilson, and then culminating in a river of bullshit directed at this President. The birth certificate, the “it was verbal rape”, the “he doesn’t love America”, the “he’s not really a Christian”…TPM? Why not do a piece on all the ways that Republicans (mostly) have slurred President Barack Obama?

Kobach’s remarks aren’t, in that context, all that surprising. It’s the expected outcome.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach ® = Totally irrational, out of control & obsessed Obama hater - has pursued groundless lawsuits to attempt to attack Obama even when he had the full knowledge that the suits were a TOTAL waste of taxpayer money & time. When Karma catches him - let’s hope it is devastating!

One of my biggest laughs in 2013 came at POS Kobach’s expense during testimony against in-state tuition for undocumented students in Kansas, to whom, of course, he referred as “illegals.”

Representative Ponka-We Victors, a Native American, looked at Kobach and said: “I think it’s funny Mr. Kobach, because when you mention illegal immigrant, I think of all of you.”

[But nothing drew a bigger reaction than when Rep. Ponka-We Victors,
D-Wichita, wrapped up a series of questions to the bill’s chief
proponent, Secretary of State Kris Kobach.
“I think it’s funny Mr. Kobach, because when you mention illegal
immigrant, I think of all of you,” said Victors, the Legislature’s lone
American Indian member.
The …gallery burst into cheers and applause — a rare reaction in normally staid hearings.
“Please don’t do that,” said Rep. Arlen Siegfreid, R-Olathe, the chairman of the House Federal and State Affairs Committee.]

Well OK but the black panthers couldn’t be more irrelevant. The DOJ’s current finding is that Ferguson police routinely funded large parts of their budget by singling out black drivers for minor traffic offenses, and black pedestrians for vague “disorderly conduct” type offenses which can easily be pinned on anyone who can’t afford a lawyer. President Obama is absolutely right to stop that sort of nonsense. It can’t be stopped fast enough.

Kansas seems to have a fondness for electing unethical attorneys general (see Kline, Phill). Oops, correction, should be unethical state officials below the level of lieutenant governor who happen to be attorneys.
