Discussion: Kobach Defends Remark On Obama Not Prosecuting Black Criminals

“The point is the Obama administration has already done what the caller suggests in the context of voting civil rights statutes,” Kobach said. “So it’s already happened in one limited context. No, I don’t think it will happen in other contexts. I made it clear I don’t think that’s likely to happen.”

That was about as mealy-mouthed an answer as you’ll ever hear.

Another right wing blowhard with political ambitions who won’t let reality undermine his inflammatory rhetoric.

What he is saying is a lie. Before the Obama administration took over, the Dept of Justice under Bush decided no criminal prosecution was warranted in the Black Panther case. They chose a civil prosecution, which the Holder administration followed up on and got a civil penalty levied against the one Panther holding a stick.

The claim that Obama decided not to prosecute was found to be false by Politifact. Politicians who still say its true should be ashamed. But this clown doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

Other than the fact that this did not happen, I guess he has a point.

Never surprises me how long people can continue telling a lie as if nobody cares that it’s untrue. Right-wing cite this case often, and they’re always wrong.

In addition to which, no voters reported actually being intimidated.

Not to mention that the “case” against the NBPP (both of them) was promoted, IIRC, by Republican “poll watchers”, whose main cause-for-complaint seemed to be for their stained trousers, resulting from the horrific trauma of seeing Black men with sticks? Horrors!
And this long-discredited BS from 2008 is Kobach’s “evidence” of President Obama’s (whom he seems to imagine as personally directing each and every criminal prosecution in the entire US) desire to “never prosecute blacks”??
A far more salient question would be why anybody in any even-remotely-respectable media outlet would give a twisted crank like Kris Kobach the goddam time of day…

Just another one of those “civil rights is a zero-sum game” jackasses that infect the GOP. My guess is that he’s probably exactly the kind of person described in the Ferguson DOJ report.

So according to him, he’s only a partial racist scumbag not the obvious full blown bigot that he appears to be.

And what did the two Black Panther dudes actually do besides be black?

Chris Kobach; I would’ve hung those uppity Black Panthers that did nothing because of something and because the President didn’t do something about nothing I’m afraid he’ll keep not doing it. Be afraid, black is back.

This is very interesting. To a hammer, everything looks like a nail. And to a racist, everything is about race. The only possible reason the Justice Department didn’t prosecute the Black Panthers is because of their race. See how easy that was? The Nazis did the same thing with the Jews.

Darren Wilson and George Zimmerman are black? Who knew?

What about Panataleo? Is he black too?

Oh, and Jamie Dimon and Lloyd Blankfein? Funny, they don’t look black. Must be that “invisible blackness” afforded by the one-drop rule.

Yeah, that Fox gig he’ll get will really cramp his style.

And damned proud of it.

There is no defending the slime bag and crook…kobach…Liar ,cheat, and racist!

I realize this is Kansas and all, and thus wouldn’t happen, but I wish that SOMEONE would put a law - maybe in the US Code - stating that being an insane racist motherfucker while holding a high government position is grounds for deportation to either Somalia (for the libertarian imbeciles) or Russia (for those expressing some man-love for that manly man Vladimir Putin) or the ISIS attempted caliphate (for the American Taliban).

Oh, they’d get a fair trial - one with only sane persons (i.e., non-RWTMs) on the jury.

And ME to render the sentence.

It seems to me unlikely that Kobach realizes at all how unkindly history will judge him, his lies, his open racism, his grifting, his hate promotion, his stealing of the civil rights of other citizens, and his open warfare on the democratic process, But Kansas voters keep voting him into office eyes wide open to the fact that this who he is and what he does, so they must approve.

Kansas has been high on my list of places in America of neither interest nor value that anyone with faith in humanity can safely leave off ever visiting again in case that person were to suddenly realize thereafter that they spent even the smallest amount of money that might end up used by the Brownback administration to advance its bad stupid policies. Still there!

Christ these fucking racist demons make me sick.

Has this dumbass checked prison statistics?

Oh …wait.

Who needs facts?

This bigoted, rotten POS can stick his head further up his own ass. Not a shred of evidence to back up his accusations, just GOP propaganda and innuendo. If he had a conscience, he would be ashamed of himself, but based on his past performance, he’s just another Rethuglican psychopath. Screw him and his so-called party; they are a bunch of Neanderthals running around in 21st century clothing. Die in a fire, you miserably bacteria.
