Keep fighting the idiots, Jimmy, it’s a story that needs to be told and re-told…

While I wish we were just a bit less obsessed with celebrities in this country, and gave say five percent of our attention to actual normal unfamous people, it’s been instructive to see the sheer lack of simple humanity certain people have responded to Kimmel’s son’s story with. The thing is, in the end he clearly showed it wasn’t about him. He said no parent should have to wonder about paying for a child’s medical care. It was the opposite of being an elite Hollywood creep. It was more the empathy underlying what we misleadingly call simple humanity. And some of us have thrown that away as a political stance. I hope they live to feel ashamed of it, but sociopathic shamelessness seems to be a new political stance too. Shaking my god-damned head.

Strange world they live in where no one deserves healthcare, but everyone should have guns.

I bet they’d be ok if guns were government subsidized.

He also said there’s a reason Newt’s named after a lizard.

A strange world indeed where people with mental health issues can get guns but not treatment

Oh hell, everyone knows he’s a giant salamander monster wearing a human skin. That’s like the biggest open secret inside the Beltway for decades now. It explains everything.

Thanks Jimmy…when they got nothin’, they got nothing. They just looked like a bag of giant jerks.

Kimmel also brought on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who said last week
that the Senate Obamacare repeal bill should “pass the Jimmy Kimmel
test” and ensure that every child get “everything she or he would need
in that first year of life.”
…
First year only Senator? What then? Should they get off their stinking diapered butts and get a job so they aren’t a drag on dear mom 'n dad??

Trump: That Jesus guy was really really smart. No wonder, I have always been a true Christian and White:

A few weeks ago…or maybe months…I was in a discussion about how many actors out there grew up poor or middle class. They didn’t grow up so rich that they could put the social security money they got because of their father’s early death into the bank the way Paul Ryan did. Very few actors come from families of actors (the Redgraves and Barrymores being two notable dynasties in showbusiness), but the majority came from more humble backgrounds.

These people often have far more in common with the “common man” than the Republicans who are busy screwing over Americans.

If we had to have a President who came from the world of TV, why Trump and not Kimmel?

Technically speaking a newt isn’t a lizard but the general idea holds true enough. Lookie…I found Newt’s family album… here’s his uncle Nudibranch:

That’s not a photoshop either…that’s a real critter

I am not sure that is really true, just based on the number of people I have looked up on IMDB over the years. While they may not all come from families of actors (though a surprising number do come from families that have producers, directors, etc. in them), most do seem to come from upper middle class if not actual wealthy families.
