Discussion for article #238312
All the people pay the taxes that pay him. If he’s unwilling to work for all the people, he should resign.
Why is this asshat not fired yet? Or in jail? Tick-tock, Governor.
Fire the little bastard. TODAY.
Hmm… How long would you or I last at a job where we refused to do a job – even after a meeting from the head administrator?
Wait, wasn’t this clerk’s grandpappy refusing to let Negroes into school as well after the judicial tyranny of the Supreme Court ended segregation?
Never would get that far or last that long.
So, is he going to run for state assembly or go for the big time and make a run for Congress?
I sense another Gofundme scam from another pseudo-martyr.
Davis on Thursday insisted that spending $60,000 on a special session would be worth it.
When fiscal and social conservatism collide.
…clerks must issue the licenses or be fired.
So…fire the fuckah!
Looks like the good ol’ boys and girls down south still know “the drill.” That’s why it is very important to clamp down on these piss-ants immediately
Send him a pink slip.
Do your job. Or quit. Or be fired.
And regardless of what you do… your ass should be sued by those you have spewed your religion on against the rule of law and your oath of office.
Davis, along with a few other county clerks in the state, had also asked Beshear to consider calling a special legislative session to clarify statutes pertaining to same-sex marriage licenses.
The Supreme Court Of The United States of America has already clarified that…or so I thought. Maybe Davis should ask clarification for the 1st Amendment of the US constitution, the part about religious stuff.
It goes against my religion for this guy to continue to have a job. Your move, Kentucky.
How does collecting a fee and stamping a form constitute “participating” in someone else’s sin? It’s not a wedding ceremony. The applicants are not married when the license is issued, are they?
This foolishness about being sensitive to people’s religious beliefs has to be called out. If you are personally performing a wedding ceremony, then let’s talk. Otherwise, collect the fee, stamp the form, and practice your beliefs outside of work.
I advised Mr. Davis that I respect his right to his own personal beliefs regarding same-sex marriages. However, when he was elected, he took a constitutional oath to uphold the United States Constitution
As Davis is an elected official it probably isn’t as simple as simply firing him, but does anyone know the options for removing an elected official in Kentucky?
Make him personally responsible for the $60,000 a day a special session will cost.
