Looking at this man it is hard to believe that he was ever in a strip club much less was getting a lap dance from a stripper. What I think happened is he went to the strip club with his partner or boss and decided while he was waiting to talk to his client passed the time getting a lap dance. It is not illegal to get a lap dance at a strip club. If it was there would be a lot of men and women sitting in jail.

I like a guy who knows how to relax.
Being present in a strip club in a private room with a stripper is not generally a nugget in a future candidate’s past that candidate would want dredged up in the heat of a campaign for office. A lot of voters would be turned off by that sort of perceived behavior. While no law may have been broken it would still be seen as unseemly behavior and voters may be turned off by it.
A candidate’s past has been used many times to attack, rather unfairly, by political opponents.
Here’s an example of what I mean. When Andrew Jackson was running for President his opponent attacked Jackson with a salacious charge. That he had married his beloved wife before she had been divorced from he previous husband. The charge so disturbed Rachael Jackson that it may have contributed to her fatal heart attack:

Being in a strip club as a young single guy 16 years ago is something that would turn off people, and that everyone considering potentially running for office at any point in their future should avoid? Because I guarantee that virtually all male candidates and officeholders have been there (and many of them still are). It’s a little different from adultery a la Sanford or Spitzer. I know conservatives are stuck in the past, but I would hope that they’ve moved on from 1828.

Since many in KS can’t find any decent job courtesy of Brownback and the GOP’s economic and taxing policies, I bet a lot of them are looking for ways to waste time till a Democrat can get back into office and clean up yet another Republican debacle.

The club was operating legally. No charges were filed against him. No drugs were found. What “mistake” did Davis make?
