Declaring victory…dirty Republican lying thieves. I declare that Scott should be frog marched to prison like the criminal he is.

Is there a reason they would have a list of everyone who voted by provisional ballot prior to the counting of the provisional ballots?

It’s hard to tell what is going on from this report. It would be good to get a politically and legally qualified journalist on the case. Florida is enough of a circus as it is.

The Scott campaign declared victory in response to the rulings, releasing a statement insisting that “Bill Nelson is trying to commit voter fraud in broad daylight.”

“We will continue to fight for full transparency and accountability, and to protect the will of Florida voters,” Scott campaign manager Jackie Schutz Zeckman said.

I know I’m being naive, but I don’t get the full on campaign mode attitude here. Are the ballot counters really going to do their job differently than they would have otherwise, especially with court rulings in effect?

Is it just me, or is anyone else having a hanging chad flashback?

So it proceeds

So they can challenge the ballots of those who don’t sound Republican enough?

Why I remember

Isn’t there some GOP stronghold whose ballots need reviewing? In the recent words of someone we all know: “Two can play that game!”

Any time a judge’s ruling is referred to in any reporting there should be information about the case: who brought the case, in what court, when, citing what primary legal authority. And if the suit was brought by a private organization, who are these people, with whom are they aligned/allied, and where do they get their money? So how many reporters do this? Near zero. It’s incredibly frustrating. In news reporting world judges just say stuff out of the blue. And then we blame the population for being ignorant of basic governmental function.

Don’t know how many votes are still out but Nelson is slowly chipping away at Scott’s lead. It’s now down to 14,830.

Scott’s going to lose and he knows it.

It is not clear from the story why this is a victory – or a loss- for either side.

Yes. There should be a list. But I do not know how they do it in FL.

Agree. A poorly written story that was quickly put together. If the judge is going to make it harder to throw away votes, how is it a victory for Scott?

It’s not a victory for Scott. It’s just the judges covering their asses - and they’re right. Now Scott can’t go round wailing about a cover-up. There is absolutely nothing to uncover, and that’s what the ‘review’ will shortly conclude.

I see this as a neutral ruling. I assume the election supervisors are doing their jobs properly. If that’s the case, closer scrutiny of the ballots should clear them of wrongdoing and backfire spectacularly on Scott and Trump.

“The problem is that voters in one county are subject to a different standard for reviewing signatures than others,” said Mr. Nelson’s lead recount lawyer, Marc Elias, who said he expected the margin of about 15,000 votes separating Mr. Scott and Mr. Nelson to shrink a bit further.

Mr. Scott’s campaign manager, Jackie Schutz Zeckman, responded that “Bill Nelson’s entire campaign has been a fraud.”

This is from a NYT article, but no place to comment there. All I gotta say is, Jeebus, the GOPers sure know how to do hyperbole…
