The judge may be trying to hold off a government appeal of his orders to reunite the children with their parents. Holding one or more of the defendants in contempt could enable the government to file a quick appeal which could result in putting Judge Sabrawâs orders on hold while the matter went from the US Court of Appeals to possibly the US Supreme Court. I think heâs trying to do what he can before the case goes on appeal. It would feel absolutely great to have him put these sadists in jail though (where they all belong).

This, absolutely. But it will never happen. As much as both sides hate each other, the political class is united in its insistence that none of them should ever have to suffer any substantial intrusion into their lives, no matter what they do.
Politicians no longer fear us. They know they can stay in power by weaponizing our points of disagreement, and that solidarity among themselves will always intervene to block justice.
