this Manafort guy truly lives in a bubble, but it popped when the people toppled the Yahovich government, the one whose image he cleaned with a suit and haircut. Mueller has those files now. It is like he normalized the sleazy life of corrupt government and all that mattered were the millions he was making off it. The fact that he keeps bringing these frivolous complaints to the court, really says more about him as a man with tortured logic and soon without a country.

Something that bothers me about this: the ‘ex-employee’s’ name is on the lease, so, presumably, he’d share the jeopardy, and been a great patsy, if the government had found a meth lab in the storage locker. But Paulie now says he was dismissed and had no right of access, but, nonetheless, didn’t get the keys or change the lease. Seems to me Manafort wants to have his cake and eat it, too.
Don’t know what religion this man has, but he better start putting together his prayer mantle.
I’d suggest he’d do better buying a prayer wheel – it’ll significantly increase the volume of his supplications, which may incrementally raise the possibility that his entreaties will be heard.
Additionally, if the contents of the storage facility was so valuable and held such closely held secrets, one would think that Manafort would make it a high priority to retrieve the keys. He probably fired Trusko after he let the FBI search the storage unit, to punish him and to make his case for illegal search.

The hearing from my viewpoint is pro forma. It’s the only way to preserve any questions about the search and seizure if an appellate lawyer wants to raise that issue.
I don’t see how Manafort stands a chance of getting it declared an illegal search since the guy had the keys and his name is on the lease. That’s going to be damn near impossible to fight.
