Very true. The entire Republican Party has, all of a sudden, become quite liberal in their thinking about right to privacy, FISA warrants and law enforcement overreach. For all the wrong reasons, of course. Meaning they donāt care about others peopleās civil rights, they just donāt want to go to jail for their own criminal activities.

Arenāt Repubs the folks who always rail against due process for impeding law enforcement? Yes, I know the answer. They are hypocrites who always use the loopholes they pretend to despise.
Of course I am in favor of enforcing due process, because you have to do that at the global level for the system to work. But covering up clear evidence of guilt through technical means never wins any sympathy. Nor earns vindication.

I have given up. Trying to talk to them is like trying to have a reasonable conversation with some villager from the Middle Ages who had never been more than twenty miles from his village before the time machine arrivedālives in a world of witches and miracles performed by clerics that is flat, the center of the universe and surrounded by moving sky lights.
