Why the long, pale face, Mr. Cohen?
āWood said Cohen, like any criminal defendant,ā
That had to sting.
āOn the recommendation of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Jones was nominated to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York by President Bill Clinton on October 18, 1995ā

Kimba Wood: Trollmaster
There were also vague hints of tension between lawyers for Cohen and Trump, who until now have been largely on the same page.
Hmm I wonder if that could be because one of the principals blabbered his fat clown mouth on Fox and Executive Time Friends this morning and not only declared Cohen a liar, but completely undercut one of Cohenās core claims in the case.
Maybe!
āJones and the Cohen team will be permitted to use keywords to sort through all of the seized documentsā¦ā
Iām really upset at the prospect of the special master (or worse yet, Cohenās team) being allowed to make designations about āresponsivenessā. As I believe the judge herself said, this isnāt a subpoena. If itās not relevant to their case, and itās not protected as privileged, why would it matter if the prosecutors saw it? All that exists here is the potential for evidence of other crimes to get buried as ānonresponsiveā.
Need to read the order, but it sounds exactly what I expected Judge Wood would do.
Always remember that the master appointment represents an exceptional concession to Trump and Cohen, who have basically said that a taint team composed of public servants would not be trustworthy. Wood has to be very careful that the special treatment idea does not get out of hand. Already we see that Cohen and Trump are attempting to get documents other than privileged ones excluded from prosecution scrutiny on the basis of privacy and relevance. Thatās bullshit that the judge must shut down. There canāt be one rule forMAGA folks and another for the rest of us.
I donāt believe that the judge said that the special masterās background "lent her āall of the different points of review you would want to bring to these documents.āā View, maybe, but not āreview.ā
Retired federal judge. Former prosecutor. Sounds like an appropriate choice.
And this is the way to go. Donāt want the bad folks to skate because the judge, or the government, tried to cut corners.
I guess that answers the only relevant question: is she a Patriot or a Liberal? There is no other option in Fox News World.
Ooh another woman on the case. Trump must be abusing his staffers really badly today. Melania too, probably. That is if she lets him close enough to spew, which she very well may not.
Iām pretty sure thatās how warrants are supposed to work. If thereās an intentionally high bar for seizing a lawyerās records, that whole premise of there being this high bar would be undermined if thereās a backdoor way to turn any seizure into a wide-ranging fishing expedition.

Also, the special master works for and reports to the Judge.
Wood said Cohen, like any criminal defendant, would likely feel uncomfortable having the government rifling through deeply personal documents like a childās medical records.
Or the medical records of a petulant orange toddler who is particularly fond of buckets of KFC.
Your search word received too many hits. Please refine your terminologyā¦
A mob prosecutor. Oh, this just gets better.
There were also vague hints of tension between lawyers for Cohen and Trumpā¦
Soon to be far less vague.
Does it? Seems to me all the special master does is move the review from the DOJ to the court, right? I donāt see any problem with that.
Iām thinking that all this buys Cohen (and Trump) is a little extra time to cogitate on his perfidy and perhaps a little more knowledge of what the prosecutors are relying on as evidence. If I read the accounts properly, the SDNY will be able to challenge, on a case by case basis, any documents that are held back from them by the special master.
