Discussion: Johnson Fails To Name Single Foreign Leader: ‘I’m Having An Aleppo Moment’ (VIDEO)

I’ve been wondering why no one asks HO this type of question, anything about what’s happening in the world, and then pushes him for the answer. Seems questions are always “why did you …” or “what would you do about…” but never like, “tell us who…” or “what do you think about what’s going on in …”

Almost makes one wonder if Johnson is purposely trying to kill his campaign’s numbers because he doesn’t want Trump to win, but still wants to keep the Libertarian party name out there.

Makes some people wonder even more with that rumored Carl Bernstein story about Weld discussing pulling out of the race all together due to worries about Trump.

Maybe Johnson is this dumb (though I’ve never gotten that impression for earlier interviews…just wacky Libertarian ideas, not lack of basic knowledge). But if they ARE worried about their candidacy pulling in numbers that could put Trump in the White House (9% is a significant number), this is one hell of a good way to go about it.

Methinks Johnson showed up for the town hall because he heard there were great munchies in the Green Room and he couldn’t resist.

Let’s face it, Johnson was ready for his nap when he was asked the question…so let’s not be too hard on him.

What a flake.

Johnson is rightly proud of his accomplishment in climbing Mt. Everest…but…I’m wondering if he didn’t fail to acclimate properly or if he dropped a few O2 cylinders and suffered hypoxia and accompanying high altitude cerebral edema resulting in hypoxic brain injury.
OK…Going all MD. Still, it would explain a LOT! :smirk:

Maybe it’s altruism and he’s sacrificing himself to avoid a Drumpf’ presidency?

Yes, that’s exactly the sort of misogyny I was talking about. I get why a disgruntled Sanders supporter would get behind Stein. It makes sense because Stein’s policies and ideology align more closely with Sanders than any candidate other than Clinton. But to go from Sanders to this guy who doesn’t even believe in perhaps 95% of the economic policies that Sanders has spent most of his life championing? That’s not about Clinton, and I question whether they originally chose Sanders because he has a penis and not because they really cared about his policies.

This is interesting because just yesterday I got into a FB back and forth with one of these Sanders turned Johnson backers. I posted a Trump meme and he took the occasion to say that although the meme was funny, Trump was right about a lot of the things he said about Clinton. He proceeded to then go through Clinton’s many horrible acts that prove she’s a monster (hiring DWS for her campaign, “super predators”, the speeches, etc.). It was a list of primary campaign grievances. He went on to admit that he agrees with Clinton much more than Johnson, believes she’d be a better president, has more qualifications, etc., but he’s still voting Johnson on principle. What principles? It occurred to me that these people and their principles richly deserve life under Trump because their principles seem to end and begin with who has a penis and who doesn’t.

Not ready for prime time!

What’s with these old white men that know nothing, yet think they’re presidential material?

I read a column the other day ( I think on Dkos, but might have been somewhere else) about how female candidates for governor, House, Senate press coverage is always much more focused on things like looks, personality characteristics, emotions, than they are about policy. They actually brought up some pretty compelling statistics to make the case.

And true to form, someone posted a response and said “Yeah, but Hillary has a big problem with being untrustworthy…but I agree its unfair how OTHER female candidates are treated”

It was like…Wow. You are literally proving the whole point in that one post. Quite frankly, I am pretty convinced that “untrustworthy” has become code for “doesn’t have a penis”.

All most Libertarians know, all that they believe they need to know, is Libertarian philosophy and anything in Ayn Rand’s tracts.

Saying the sun is going to destroy the earth is not accepting of global warming.

Sadly he kind of makes Trump look almost knowledgeable.

Anyone still want him in the debates?

Any insistent Bernie followers still think he’s a viable alternative?

Holy shit to anyone that says yes to those two questions.

Here you go smart ass.

And herein is the rub: I’d venture to say this person was white, that group of people who will be completely unaffected but he unleashing of white supremacist garbage that’s already “the base” of Trumpo’s campaign. A reasonable adult would not want to hurt other people by pretending voting for a dead-enders like Stein or Johnson is a “conscience” vote. I’d like to know how he’s going to affected by someone yelling “we’re building the wall!” at a Latino walking down the street. Oh, that’s right, he won’t. But, at least he can post his “outrage” on Twitter and Facebook.

I’d also venture to say that he probably mocks right-wing voters as being hopelessly gullible and voting against their own best interests with a straight face.

Here you go, dumb ass:

So, the question was whether he believes in global warming. The answer is yes he believes in global warming. Him saying that we need to move to a different planet or a different galaxy is neither here nor there. In that article he says in 2011 that it makes no sense to try and stop it because the sun will eventually destroy the Earth anyway. That is not a denial of the existence of global warming. In an interview that he did YESTERDAY he says that yes, yes indeed global warming is real. Thanks for playing.

I’m sorry man but you are just as unqualified to be president as Trump. You are just not as obnoxious as Trump.

Agreed. My primary reaction to this was, “Damnit you idiot, you’re hurting the legalization movement.”
