No-L F(l)ake does what he always does, talks like he has humanity, then votes to prove he does not.

surPRISE, surPRISE, surPRISE

Flakey Jeff! All bullshit and no backbone!

The good news is that now maybe the fake suspense over whether the usual weasels will go against their masters might end. “News” coverage can move on to the next outrage.

What a chickenshit remark from Flake. Presumption of innocence? This isn’t a criminal proceeding, it’s an extremely consequential hiring decision. The burden of proof is on the candidate.

The Senate majority is controlled by 18% of the population from mostly white conservative states. The Democrats in the Senate have collectively received 24 million votes more than the Republicans.

No democracy, no justice.

“What I do know is that our system of justice affords a presumption of innocence to the accused, absent corroborating evidence,” Flake said.

“And we will do everything in our power to make sure we do not investigate or ever see any corroborating evidence, even if the accused lied his ass off during the hearing,” Flake continued.

This vote shouldn’t be a difficult one for Manchin. He’s running on healthcare, as he should be, and should be able to vote no rather safely.

But if he sees it as a done deal now and hence his no vote does not matter, he may very well vote yes. I still think a no vote is not so much risk for him, but admittedly the rage high since yesterday may have made a no vote a little tougher – since so many people vote emo, and we are talking about WV.

OK, so here’s my dream. Flake sends it to the floor, then votes ‘no’ as a smackdown.

yeah right.

The only people who would vote for this sexual assaulter and liar are “men” who support this kind of activity - just guys doing what guys do - or sexual assaulters themselves
Kavanaugh did this, obviously, and obviously is a liar
The entitled white guy with the full support of Republican fellow assaulters?

Would be funny, but i doubt he has the balls.

Pontius Pilate strikes again.

Yep. The entire system is failing and corrupt. Hoping to win battles like this and thereby fix things is pointless. We keep learning that. The electoral college, money driving elections, all of it will always lead to this kind of corruption. The oligarchs only have to brainwash a relative handful of people in sparsely-populated states to get the edge they need.

Since lots of people read your posts, I thought I’d post this here. Free fax. I got through to Donnelly’s office but not Manchin’s. Send him a fax.

After Kavanaugh’s Captain Queeg-worthy performance yesterday it is beyond comprehension how any self-respecting representative could vote to confirm this person driven by self pity, rage and naked partisan bias. Are we that far apart in our thinking now as a nation?

sigh I’m getting so sick of hearing this. Barf O’Kavanaugh wasn’t on trial.

Anyway, flake’s retiring, yet still hauling the GOP’s water. Why? Presidential run in 2020 (actually, let’s hope he does run - that means the current occupant is gone)?

The ONLY silver lining is that the mask has blatantly completely come off and this will greatly expedite the demise of the party. Every newspaper is calling to not confirm Kavanaugh and the ABA is now asking for an investigation. They have paid a very big price for this.

Hold your collective nerve people. We’re witnessing the death throes of the GOP and their final hurrah which will taint and haunt them to oblivion.
Harding’s and Hoover’s outrages, and utter disregard to the plight of the tent cities’ dwellers gave way to FDR, the New Deal, Truman, LBJ, Civil Rights, Medicare and much more. That apogee gave way to tricky Dicky, the Bushes and now the Orange buffoon.
The tide is inevitably turning and they will be swept away.

Yes, SC may go full tilt right wing, but so long as enfranchisement makes inroads, people become more engaged, the laws of the land will follow.

As LBJ used to say in the run-up to the civil rights act, give the blacks the vote, the rest will follow. Fight apathy and disenfranchisement, the SC will follow.
