Discussion: Jeb On Pence

Discussion for article #234860

“And this law simply says the government has to have a level of burden to be able to establish that there’s been some kind of discrimination. We’re going to need this,” Bush added. “This is really an important value for our country to, in a diverse country, where you can respect and be tolerant of people’s lifestyles, but allow for people of faith to be able to exercise theirs and kick out those fags.”

“Bush also supported a federal constitutional amendment defining gay marriage as between a man and a woman.”

Wha…?

Jeb really doesn’t want to be president very much, does he?

THAT surprised me. Too much for snark. Too much for even a reaction.

I was convinced that Bush would not do this.

Hey, doofus. SCOTUS overturned part of it. You might want to read about it, eh? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_Freedom_Restoration_Act

BEAUTIFUL!

This pretty much cements the 2016 Dem candidate’s chances. Even Democratic candidate Ham Sandwich should do quite well in the general. It’s one thing for the klowns to pack into the klown kar; it’s another to run the damn thing off a cliff, on fire.

Who knew that, suddenly, Clinton is the standard by which Republicans regard law.

I agree. This morass is so toxic it might as well have a neon sign on it.

So, of course, he and the other GOP hopefuls wade in it like hogs.

With "friends’ like that…

I admire Jeb’s values. He values any position that he thinks will help him politically.

JEB serves a useful purpose. We now know what Barbara looks like out of drag.

I think he just handed HRC Florida’s electoral votes.

There goes Jebbers, sucking hard at the plugged teat of bigotry.

I believe this loon just found one more way to disqualify himself to be President of the these United States. He thinks he can get away with working off his bro’s crib sheets. Trouble is…is 2015, not 2000.

Not to mention, the lie that Republicans continue to tell and repeat is that this is just like all the other RFRA laws. It is not, primarily because Indiana has no protection for gay people as a protected class under their State Constitution. So this new law gives religious bigots essentially carte blanche to discriminate without fear of being taken to court. In the event they are taken to court, they have this new repugnant ALEC-concocted law already on their side.

Now that Hobby Lobby is in place, these laws don’t just ‘protect’ individual owners it means that whole corporations can hang out signs saying who they will serve and who they won’t.

A woman’s method of access reproductive health care should not depend on the faith history of her employer.

Keep it up, Jeb. That hole is nearly deep enough.

I thought she was in drag already?

Sure. Because the electorate has gotten so much smarter in the last 5 months.
