Discussion: 'It's Bob's Call': Barr Says He's Not Blocking Mueller Testimony

ā€œI’m trying to break away from Washington and do the real work of the attorney general.ā€

Ahhh! I see you have a new line of imperial clothing!

The president has already publicly said that Mueller should not testify.

In the real world, this would be a laughable public display of organizational dysfunction

Attorney General William Barr insists he’s not standing in the way of the House Judiciary Committee hearing from special counsel Robert Mueller.

We believe that as much as we believed your summary of the Mueller report.

ā€œIt’s Bob’s call whether he wants to testify,ā€ Barr told the Wall Street Journal

It's Barr's call until Trump makes it his call.

Trump does great deals. It’s what he does. Makes deals. Great deals. Great big deals. He does.

Who? What? He said that? What again? How’s that? Talk to him? It’s up to who now? Oops, gotta go. Call me.

Delay, deny, obfuscate. Barr’s just like Frank Luntz, after he tells you is name, it’s ALL lies and spin.

What LowBarr is not saying is that they will be holding Mrs Mueller in custody (ā€œfor her own safetyā€) while her husband testifies.

Just in case Mueller decides to tell the truth, instead of toeing the Spanke/LowBarr line.

Heven’t seen this yet, but we may. Trump loathes Obama so much he’s certainly tasked Barr with starting some sort of trouble for him. Trump holds grudges for life, and Obama’s monologue at the WHCD slayed Trump in front of hundreds of people. An epic takedown. Combine that embarrassment with Trump’s rabid racism, insecurity and white entitlement and the perfect storm of ā€œFigure out a way to take that uppity nggr down a few notchesā€ has to be on Barr’s to-do list.

And, what exactly does that mean? Have you seen the light and realize that you’re not tRump’s attorney general? Worried that you’ll get even more bad press and look like you’re even more a corrupt POS?

Nah, that’s assigning too much integrity to Barr. He’s still Ned Beatty, squealing and crawling through the leaves on the forest floor…

So long as Mueller is still an employee of the DoJ under Barr, he may be able to testify but what he’ll be allowed to say will most likely be more circumscribed, while some things may even continue be off limits by Barr on tRump’s behalf. Better he wait until the yoke is completely off and he is free to give his testimony as a private citizen…No Holds Barr. Only then, any caveats he offers will have less to do with any particular restrictions unnecessarily imposed on him by Barr to protect the Man-child’s flailing sense of his own importance.

Succinct.

He’s only blocking what Bob can talk about. Kind of like Rosenstein saying Mueller can investigate but not look at trump’s taxes.

The lady in question may have been a debutante but she is also a tough cookie. She’d tear out Barr’s spleen and eat it raw on live television if the need arose.

Wedding photo:

(Forgive the blur; I had to have it cropped and enlarged.)

Former administration officials, especially those with knowledge of national security issues, are bound by rules and regulations governing what they are allowed to do with that knowledge even after seperation. Many people writing post-employment books are known to be required to submit their books for review to the relevant departments before publication, as the government reserves the right to object and contest the inclusion of information they deem unsuitable for public release.

If there’s stuff you can’t write in a book, there’s certainly stuff you may be allowed to say in a closed session that those questioning you are similarly prevented from divulging. So what Mueller tells the House we may never know in full.

Seems Barr has a problem with showing his work product and procedures.
