The chicken(shit)s of our history and unwillingness to be/do what we say we are are actually starting to come home to roost. The irony that it’s roosting on the side that doesn’t usually use racism as a tool to win elections is, well, just what irony was made for.

We fought a massive war, lost hundreds of thousands of lives, then refused to do anything significant enough about the cause and those who rebelled to put a hard stop on it. We have this high language in the Constitution, but we’ve never forced or enforced the idea that liberty and justice for all means what it says. Entitled white men run the place, and they see no reason to enforce it, because it’s working fine for them. Well, maybe it’s time. Tear it all down, pour gas on it and light it. The fire will go where it goes, and after maybe we can actually have a more perfect union.
