Trump was decided on Kavanaugh by Friday, but waited until Sunday to inform the nominee.
Of course. So Trumpâs statement on Saturday that he hadnât decided yet was false. Big issue or small, there is nothing that comes out of this guyâs mouth that anyone can assume is true.
Thereâs a pattern in these big nominations. tRump seems to have early favorites. Then they fade. New people come into play. They seem almost certain. Then der Furor circles back to one of the original favorites. Happens every time.
âTrump was essentially decided on his nominee after Justice Anthony Kennedy told him he would retire in a meeting.â
So basically Kennedy said, âIâll retire if I can hand-pick my successorâ and Dump said, âDeal!â Which would make this the only deal Dump has ever honored in his entire life.
You are too kind to him. There is nothing that comes out of his mouth that should not be assumed to be a flat-out lie.
If tRump said it was snowing, I wouldnât believe him if I saw white stuff falling from the sky.
I thought it would be Ketheridge, to give the right wing Protestants a fist bump.
Itâs just a terrible poker face. He tips his hand, tries to distract, the reaveals the previously tipped hand.
Itâs likely a cottonwood tree in summer
Politico reported that T was impressed with Kavanaughâs âfidelity to the Constitution.â If, indeed, he is faithful to the Constitution, that will make one person connected to this bunch. And how would any of these Bozoâs know? Itâs not like they care about the Constitution at all.
For the past several days,Iâve been told in another TPM thread that millennials stayed home in 2016. Itâs working out real well for them. They havenât even gotten the full Monty from their apathy yet either.
Josh tweeted of a report that Trump and Kennedy have been negotiating for months, and only when Kennedy received assurances of his replacement, did he retire.
If true, then shame, shame on Justice Kennedy. What he did was to name a heir to his throne. Democracy doesnât work like that.
Wow. "negotiations for months". Another corrupt bargain. Where'd the banker son fit in? https://t.co/7vQagS4taD

But, but, but Kavanaugh stated, âNo president has ever consulted more widely or talked to more people from more backgrounds to seek input for a Supreme Court nomination.â Is it possible that this Trump-like statement wasâgaspâfalse? That a Republican-chosen SC nominee is corrupt?
Trump, who spent more time with Kavanaugh than the other finalists, was impressed with the judgeâs credentials, long judicial record and fidelity to the Constitution, according to administration officials.
Thank you âadministration officialsâ for aiding in the fabrication of Trumpâs image as someone who knows anything about anything, most certainly the Constitution. Thanks, Politico, for reporting that bit of likely âuntruth.â
Someone needs to break it to Politico staff - not all, but too many - that âWhite House stenographerâ is actually not part of their job description.
Because Kavanaughâs 2009 opinion on executive power and the prohibition from charging or requiring a sitting President to defend against charges is Trumpâs âget out of jail freeâ card, or so he thinks.
Iâm going to assume that Trump cut a deal with Kennedy. Trump could care less about this guy or the SC in general, just wants the get out of jail free card. He agrees to Kennedyâs request, which was presumably made with Kavanaughâs knowledge and assent, and Kav promises to vote with T on whatever, just as Kennedy had done for those final pivotal cases. Kennedy almost certainly winked-winked that he would side with the admin on those as part of the deal. They get their pick, Trump gets his agenda/ass out of prison. Thereâs probably some more quid and quo in there I canât see clearly yet involving the son and the bank.
At a MINIMUM this should be added to the obstruction charges, though Iâm curious if other legal scholars can chime in on what other laws got broken here.
Donaldâs a simple man but not in a good way.
Anytime, Mr. MuellerâŚ

ââŚand was impressed with Kavanaughâs credentials and âfidelity to the Constitution,â âŚâ
Ten bucks says Trump canât spell Constitution.
Twenty bucks says Trump canât spell Kavanaugh, credentials, or fidelity.
