Discussion: ISIL Is Frying People's Brains: How We Got To Obama Doesn't 'Love America'

Discussion for article #233446

The Republicans impeached Bill Clinton for showing a bit too much love for some Americans and now they are concerned that Obama isnā€™t showing enough. Meanwhile, Giuiliani showed a whole lot of love for his ex by announcing his divorce on TV before he told her. Love is a bitch.

I see that we are moving through the 5 stages of Screech:

  1. Inception: One Republican says Obama doesnā€™t love America.

  2. Propagation: Fox News says Obama doesnā€™t love America.

  3. Acceptance: All Republicans say Obama doesnā€™t love America!

  4. Doubt: One Republican says Obama might love America, but America doesnā€™t love him.

5: Passive-aggression: Republicans say that they donā€™t know if Obama is a Kenyanā€¦erā€¦Muslimā€¦erā€¦Loves America.

ā€œIā€™m not questioning his patriotism. Heā€™s a patriot, Iā€™m sure,ā€ Giuliani said. ā€œWhat Iā€™m saying is that in his rhetoric, I very rarely hear him say the things that I used to hear Ronald Reagan say, the things I used to hear Bill Clinton say, about how much he loves America.ā€

I looked this up, just to make sure the definition hadnā€™t changed on me in the past week. Patriots, by definition, love their country. So, which is it?

See rudepundit.blogspot.com for the Rude Oneā€™s post yesterday where he provides MANY recent examples when the President has proclaimed that he loves America. Direct quotes. Call me cynical, but methinks the Republicans still do not like the fact that thereā€™s an uppity Negro in the White House. Why else would they doubt what the President says MANY times. In front of cameras. For all to see.

Yeah but this goes back to ā€˜08 with Palin saying he ā€œpalled around with terroristsā€ and dinā€™t understand the "real America.ā€™

How can a black guy understand and love America when itā€™s obvious to the GOP that America is white?

The only thing this demonstrates to me is that ISIS isnā€™t all that much of a threat in the minds of Republicans. All Republicans have done in the wake of terror acts conducted by ISIS is hijack the fears they provoke to promote their own anti-Obama agenda, and bitch about petty semantics. That sounds more like political opportunism than panic.

President Obama also doesnā€™t refer to the Nazis as Catholics, even though most of them were!

Nope, thatā€™s what it all comes down to: what does one do with freed Negroes? Theyā€™re not Americans, so they donā€™t really belong here. And they certainly canā€™t live here as free people, because weā€™re better than them. That was the question the Founders asked and decided to punt, but itā€™s never gone away. A free black person is not really One of Us. Two hundred plus years and nothing has changed.

While some critics pointed out what they saw as flaws in her argument, a
few conservative commentators chose to instead photoshop Harf into
images of famous generals or dismiss the blonde spokeswoman for looking
as if she were ā€œready to take on rush week at Arizona State University.ā€

Does that mean we can be rid of the majority of Fox hosts?

So which political party keeps cutting and cutting domestic programs, public education, and funding to repair and rebuild basic infrastructure so the US can compete for jobs?

So which political party spends and spends and spends on Empire building around the world and on the US Military while totally screwing things up at home?

If anyone should be questioned about love of Americans and our country it should be the Repukes and Teapubs! They are the oneā€™s who hate America!

Republicans hate America, if you take actual reality into account. Theyā€™re just in love with a revised history and a fantasy of what it is/was. They hate immigrants, minorities, homosexuals, liberals, Democrats, the poor, intellectuals, academics, atheists, Muslims, Jews, science and scientists, government, taxes, the President, ā€œthe main stream mediaā€, Hollywood, feminists, much of Americaā€™s youth, organized labor, environmentalists and just about everything that isnā€™t old, white, and Christian. ā€œAmericaā€ is an extremely narrow framework to the modern conservative when you break it down. Oh, and sometimes they pretend to care about the troops, but we all know thatā€™s a bunch of bullshit because theyā€™re more than willing to send them into the meat grinders for a profit.

Obviously the President is succeeding so the Republicans are flailing. The real problem here is the talk radio/Fox News base has to be fed mindless bullshit everyday and because they are true junkies they demand ever increasing levels of crap.

It would be nice to live in a world when doing little things like some of these would fix everything. It hardly matters for most of them and most of them are very true.

Fact of the matter is, if you kill off this threat the seed is still in place. The best way to ā€œsalt the earthā€ against radicals is to give people a reason not to radicalize. They have something to live for and support. That comes with stability. There are different long term and short term goals that are hard to reach though.

The president doesnā€™t love America! He ran for and became president because he loves the unending disrespect, racism, and unadulterated hate coming his way from the infantile right.
