The first four points of this article read like rape apologists’ excuses: What was she wearing? Was she drinking? Maybe she was asking for it?
This started when Obama was a candidate and Republicans put every effort into making him look like The Other. They’ve been at it since then and have all been drinking the Kool-Aid.
Here is my problem–I somewhat enjoy being shocked and disgusted at things RWNJ’s say. It makes me feel righteous and smart to compare myself to the idiocies coming from “the other side”. But I do not want to wallow in explanations of their lies or a history of its internet trends.
When Scott Roeder walked into George Tiller’s church and put a bullet in the back of his head, did the Right Wing media correctly refer to Roeder as a “Christian terrorist?”
Yet another clue for cluesless Dems that the Derpublicans are never, ever, ever going to sign on to anything this President does, and are never, ever going to sign on to anything Dems do. Why not abandon the “love them over to our side” and start shutting them down in the marketplace of ideas? Every Dem elected official from Reid down to the township dogcatcher ought to be all over this in the media.
Chris Matthews among others got this whole thing a long time ago. Obama is somehow not legitimate for any number of reasons - new ones all the time for six years - on some mysterious unnamed basis. He was on a panel of mainstream TV journalists a couple years ago and talked about this and the others all treated him like the crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner.
One way to look at it is that Republicans are authoritarians. The President is the Daddy of the country, and the daddy is the ultimate unassailable role model, judge, jury, and disiplinarian. That guy can’t appear to be black. Not possible. My daddy isn’t black, and all blacks are inferior and thus unqualified to be in the Daddy role anyway.
