No kidding. Trump doesn’t care and will not acknowledge this report. He is more worried about those 3M illegal immigrants busing around to voting booths in CA and NH.

But we don’t need to impose sanctions because they’re already working as a deterrent?

[Edit: Quick read of the document… Coats says Russia is actively trying to weaken Western sanctions and is currently “coping with sanctions at existing levels.” Which doesn’t at all sound like proposed new sanctions are working as a deterrent.]

There should be no doubt that Russia perceived its past efforts as successful

“Foreign elections are critical inflection points that offer opportunities for Russia to advance its interests both overtly and covertly.”

So are Kremlin puppets in the Oval Office.

Who are up to their eyeballs in urology videos.

And Russian money laundering.

And we know which side they’re going to help: the GOP.

Dems need to ignore the noise and just go vote en masse. Flood the zone with votes and you’ll beat the GOP.

Sounds like good news for the Republicans.

“Sympathetic spokespeople.” Uh-huh. Anyone in particular you spooks got in mind?

In other words, “Don’t worry about the mid-terms, guys. The Russians have our backs.”

And what will you do about it?

Meanwhile, US allies’ and partners’ uncertainty about the willingness and capability of the United States to maintain its international commitments may drive them to consider reorienting their policies, particularly regarding trade, away from Washington.

I would have said “particularly regarding intelligence sharing” but yes, Trump and the GOP are screwing us on the interntaional trade front too.

The entire Worldwide Threat Assessment is a pretty good read, and you can see some things in there that are problems the Trump administration is not addressing or is making worse. The threat to our elections is certainly one of them.

I also happened to notice on page 4: “Challenges from urbanization and migration will persist, while the effects of air pollution, inadequate water, and climate change on human health and livelihood will become more noticeable. Domestic policy responses to such issues will become more difficult—especially for democracies—as publics become less trusting of authoritative information sources.”

Can anyone think of any reasons why the American public would be less trusting of authoritative sources - scientists and experts - about pollution and climate change and their adverse effects on public health and livelihood? Scott Pruitt, what can you add to the conversation? How about you, Trump? Hey Pence, what does Jesus have to say about it?

"And resilience is needed, for us to stand up and say we’re not going to allow some Russian to tell us how to vote and how to run our country. I think there needs to be a national cry for that.”

Not gonna happen, when it’s easier to just stop voting, and definitely not participating in the “rigged system.” Mission accomplished, Mr. Putin!

No shit?

“[W]e need to inform the American public that this is real, that this is going to be happening. And resilience is needed, for us to stand up and say we’re not going to allow some Russian to tell us how to vote and how to run our country. I think there needs to be a national cry for that.”

Fake news! Look, I asked Putin and he said “I didn’t do that.” He, like, totally denied it. How many times am I gonna ask him?

As noted on the RMS last night, there are now at least 8 instances of communication between Donald Trump and the Kremlin that the American People only found out about from TASS and RT.
