Discussion: Inhofe: Stop 'Chastising' Me For Disagreeing With Pope On Climate

Discussion for article #240906

You’re not being ‘chastised’ because you disagree with the pope. You’re being ‘chastised’ because of your ignorant position.

Awwwww, poor wittle Inhofe is BUTT-HURT by all the “Chastising”.
What a pathetic whiner…
Don’t you have some Koch Industries bills to present to Congress? I mean, WHAT ARE THEY PAYING YOU FOR ANYWAY?

“Waaaah, the Pope is a traitor. He was supposed to come here and chastise that Muslim Kenyan usurper in the WH and scold the Amurikkkan public for electing him and supporting his positions and policies.”

people like Inhofe have a shitty outlook on life because they have their heads up their asses!

They want the Pope to come here and demand Obama stop the “persecution” of Christians. Of course, since there isn’t any persecution, the Pope isn’t going to because, unlike them, he’s read the Bible and following it pretty well.

Liberals are not “advocates of global warming.” We’re advocates of doing something about it.

Oh that liberal Pope. He such a character.

I imagine that Ghandi may have even liked him.

If I’m following his, uh, reasoning, I think he’s saying he disagrees with the pope and he disagrees with people who disagree with his disagreement because they also disagree with the pope and he disagrees that they should disagree with him if they also disagree with the pope and he disagrees with the idea you can agree to disagree on some things but there’s no disagreement about others.

The senator, who is known for his skepticism of climate change hostile refusal to accept settled science, told the pope to “stay with his job” when asked about the pontiff’s focus on the environment in June.

There. Fixed that for you.

Well, Inhofe and others of his ilk will surely be a perfect representative of how the US behaves with the Pope.

I’ve seen no other nation in my lifetime make such statements against any Pontiff, even when we’ve disagreed with his positions. These folks will just extend the disrespect they have for the POTUS to the Pontiff, thereby sealing their universal disrespect for anyone outside their bubble in a position of authority.

The whole world is watching their behavior, too. Not that it matters to them.

I’ve never met anyone who has said they are not pro-life. I’ve met many people who believe it is up to the individual whether to use contraceptives or whether to terminate a pregnancy.

Inhofe should take a refresher course on the 10 commandments, specifically the one against lying.

The Pope’s job is, in fact, to challenge your conscience. But apparently your conscience is still sold to the oil and gas companies.

And it’s amazing to me that you can accuse the media of selectivity in the same breath that you say that you approve of the Pope’s position on abortion, but reject his position on climate change.

Yeah, that made little sense to me as well. I’ve never heard anyone, when asked “are you pro life?” answer with “F#CK NO! KILL 'EM ALL!”

Well, no liberals at least …

ummm… check me here… you want people who agree with the Pope about climate change but choose to not agree with the Church position on contraceptives as being disingenuous?

doesn’t that work both ways? you agree with the his position on contraceptives and abortion but choose not to agree with his position on climate change?

I love when the right talks about political correctness run amok, but then when the Pope decides to not be politically correct and discuss other topics than how many times you pray a day, the right looses their mind. Love the hypocrisy.

His position is understandable since his largest campaign donors in 2008 were oil & gas entities that donated close to 1/2 million to his campaign. In 2010 oil and gas and electric utilities donated close to $700,000.
This is one of many politicians that are visibly bought & owned by their donors. A poor businessman, (Quaker State Insurance went under during his watch), he has to keep the only job that doesn’t require anything other than to obey his puppet masters.

No. You’re an ignorant know-nothing and the Pope is right. So, no.

Time for TPM to read the latest AP style guide.

He is not a “sceptic.” He disagrees with the consensus among climate scientists.

Basically, he’s a flat-earther, but those are my words, not the AP’s. The change to the AP guide was on the wires yesterday…
