Again, people are more motivated by hate, fear and bigotry that self interest. We’ve all seen the interviews with farmers and factory workers that acknowledge Trump’s tariff, trade and migrant worker policies have hurt them, even throwing some out of work. But they’d all gladly sleep under a bridge beneath a cardboard blanket, so long as they were assured Trump was hard at work denying black and brown people both the bridge and the cardboard.

I have lots of relatives in his district, and I don’t hold out any hope of King being defeated.
Too many ignorant/casual racists who respond to dog-whistles (or in Kings case; Bullhorns) and have NEVER MET a black person in their life. They know Migrants well, without them they could not work their hog farms or bring in their crops, but they treat them like chattel, easily replaceable cogs in their agricultural machine.
Don’t discount the HUGE presence that AM Hate-Radio plays out in the fields and farms of Rural America. It is a toxic brew of Racism, Homophobia, Misogyny, and Religious Fear-mongering that permeates all of Rural America, terrified of the decline of their “way of life” and the encroachment of Corporate Farming while at the same time the kids all are moving away to the Big Cities and abandoning the hard-scrabble-work of the Family Farm.
It’s a CULTURE WAR out there and no one on the coasts or in the Big Cities understands it, which is why the Republicans do so well outstate. They do and have been honing their manipulation of these fears ever since the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Voters in states with mail-in balloting should get a Google map showing Ballot Drop boxes near you, usually at City Hall, County Courthouses, libraries or Fire and Police stations. If you really, REALLY want to be sure where to vote call your County Auditor’s office or City Hall. They’ll direct you to your polling place or to a Ballot Drop Box.
Uber, Lyft and many municipal transit companies are offering reduced fares to polling places.

He can’t lose so lets hope he keeps this crap up. He’ll be in Congress as long as he likes and getting rid of him is not a realistic way to manage him. Marginalizing him is. Put him in an ineffective minority and let him mouth off in the corner.
The hard core GOP’ers cannot be fixed. You can’t change them. But you can out vote them and set them aside. You’ll not flip them. You can smother them. That’s all that can be done.
