Discussion: In Fundraising Email, Sanders Calls O’Rourke’s First-Day Haul ‘Bad News’

Bernie had the same problem.

I thought we were trying to find the best possible nominee for the nomination?

Bernie and his supporters seem to think he’s supposed to be anointed, and just handed the nomination. This fits with that pattern.

Shouldn’t Bernie be working on the 10 years of income tax returns he said he would be releasing “soon”?

This is TPM, they are establishment to the core. Anything bold scares them. They’re stuck in that world where it’s believed that you have to be a “centrist” democrat to have any hope of winning an election. I bet if Hillary announced they’d jump right back on that ship again, holes and all.

Beto O’Rourke is the Democrats’ Sarah Palin.

Completely unqualified to be President, but setting up to be a world-class grifter.

Well, there’s this from Josh just this morning after this from Josh last Thursday which, by the way, was entitled A Bad Day for Beto.

But nice trolling. You’ve earned a nice bowl of borscht.

Your day has passed Bernie.

I make no apologies for my opposition to Bernie Sanders.

As a registered Democrat, I consider Sanders to be a Carpet Bagger, only interested in co-opting the machinery (and ESPECIALLY the MONEY) of the Democratic Party for his own selfish use while refusing to JOIN THE PARTY and thus do the hard work of rebuilding and expanding it.

His actions in 2016 solidified this idea and he has done NOTHING to dispel it during the intervening years, showing himself to only be interested in Bernie, and no one or nothing else. If it doesn’t help Bernie, he dosen’t do it.

You don’t think it’s a little suspicious that Bernie’s average donation remained the same throughout the campaign?

I can see why people like Bernie, but for many of his supporters they seem to suspend all cynicism in a way even the Trump supporters I know don’t about Trump. (I live in a county that went for Trump over Clinton better than 2-1.)

No apologies are required. I just like positions to be clear, and how they influence judgement.

Would you rather he ran as a third party candidate, then?

He is one of the most popular politicians in America, you know.

Yeah, because wholly unsupported personal attacks are just ever so compelling… Tell me, does blatantly making up shit like this work on the other forums you frequent?

We eagerly await your evidence of illegal activity on the part of O’Rourke. I’m sure that you have such, given that you would never wildly toss out a blatant lie on this forum, a lie that you have zero evidence for, right?

Time to ressurect an oldie but a goodie…

I guess this comment section is how it’s going to be for as long as Senator Sanders leads, or approximately leads, in the polls.

People throw bombs get thrown upward in primaries. Anyone who supports Sanders should probably grit their teeth and view this as a sign that Sanders is being treated as a viable candidate, in a way he was not in 2016. If everything goes back to flowers and unicorns, it means he’s toast, so, I dunno. Perversely enjoy it.

You don’t seem to understand what he did in Texas.

That was a real reach there, too.
