There are circuit court judges whose office redecorating expenses on the govât tab would make you puke. Others donât spend a dime.
Good to see the swamp is being drained⌠/s
Seems to me the critters that have come in with TwoScoops are worse than the old denizens.
Is he running a restaurant out of HUD ? Why canât he eat in the canteen ?
It must be lovely. Such an adorable location to dine on a boxed lunch from home or a pizza order. Will knock offs be sold on QVC? Come on, Ben, we should see what we paid for.
Damn! $31K for a dinning set?!?!? Does it make food too??!! This maneuver should see the Carsons ousted from the administration.
HUD spokesman Raffi Williams told the New York Times that Carson was not previously aware that the dining room set had been purchased, but that the secretary thinks that the cost was not unreasonable and does not plan to return it. Williams also said that the decision to purchase the new set was made by a career HUD official.
This doesnât pass the smell test. Who was the âcareer officialâ that made such an expensive decision on her/his own?
On the other hand, it is the Department of Housing, and nice houses have nice dining room sets. And itâs also the Department of Urban Development, so people can aspire to have a nice dining room.
And if Obama didnât spend his own money for the stamp theyâd scream graft!
Aaron Schock would be proud!
Apparently:
'HUD did not ask for Congress approval for the purchase exceeding $5,000. Williams said that the department did not do so because the dining set served a âbuilding-wide need.ââ
Sounds like Sleepingâ Ben is hosting staff in his office. They must have to eat in shifts though.
This is what the Trumpsters consider âfiscally prudentâ:
I am sure there are many people in subsidized housing who have to eat over the fucking sink because they canât even afford a goddamned table which, if they bought, they wouldnât be able to afford the food they are eating over the sink in the first place. Fuck you, Ben Carson. Yeah, Fuck you, you sanctimonious piece of shit, and the grain-filled pyramid you rode in on.
Oh, and hereâs a few suggestions, you motherfuckers at HUD: IKEA, WalMart, Ashleyâs, Rooms To GoâŚ
Yeah, with everything else going on, this one sounds like a dud to me. We just renovated our (tiny) master bathroom at home that hadnât been updated in 50 years, and while we didnât splurge or anything, it was $10K by the time we were done. $5K as the cap for an office renovation sounds extremely low.
Yes, I am so sure everyone in the HUD building is going to be able to use Benâs $31,000 dining set anytime they want. Make sure to bring the kids with their magic markers and crayons and glitter-and-glue kits, lower-level HUD workers. I can just see old Ben spending another $31,000 on Lemon Pledge to get the stains out.
Job creation!
(I hear that Ben eats lunch in his office every day.)
Thatâs like calling the ocean damp.
It wasnât an âoffice renovationâ. It wasnât improving structural safety because a part of the building had become hazardous to the employees (yeah, like a Republican administration would worry about the health and safety of their employees!) It was replacing furniture that probably didnât even need to be replaced. They werenât ripping out walls and floors and electrical wires and replacing pipes and installing wallboard and marble tile. They were buying a chair and paying $31,000 for a dining set. Iâd love to see your bathroom if you could have spent $31,000 on it instead of $10,000. Especially that $5,000 electronic bidet!
Williams said that the department did not do so because the dining set served a âbuilding-wide need.â
Just a little white lie.
âCarson was not previously awareâŚâ
I call FAKE NEWS!!!
Ben Carson has NEVER been aware about anything!
Ha! Good one! Most likely he will get promoted to Commerce Secretary when Wilbur Ross goes to prison or gets ousted over his security clearance.
Know that when Republicanâts scream bloody murder about government waste, fraud and abuse they are projectingâŚ
