Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said during an appearance
Thursday on a Christian television show that heâs thinking about running
for President to help the nation know where laws come from: God.
I never knew that God sat down and wrote the Constitution and the United States Code (Annotated) in his spare time.
Apparently, Huckie-boy believes he has a direct line to God and what God wants.
He seems to have forgotten the prime rule of religious behaviorâWhen you talk to God, itâs called prayer. When God talks to you, itâs called schizophrenia.
It wasnât too long ago that Christians following different men claiming direct links to God and his laws were killing each other by the tens of millions. Wars were described in terms of decades or longer. Only a few people, maybe Mike Huckabee included, want to see the streets run red with blood but that is what will happen if this âLaws âCome from Godâ Not Manâ lunacy gains ascendancy.
Throughout history tyrants have invoked deities to enforce their will and buck up their armies. Nowhere did this become more apparent that the role of the Roman church and the plethora of European kings in the centuries following the collapse of the Roman Empire â except for the unholy alliances of religious extremists and politics and power that we see erupting all over the world today. What Huckabee and friends are espousing is profoundly dangerous to the very concept of freedom and peace.
Huck doesnât think the people in the Middle East have Godâs true laws. After all they are mostly Muslims and Jews. God only gives the true laws to Baptists like him. Donât believe me, ask him.
If you choose to call resistance to your sharia law âantagonisticâ to your so-called âChristian faithâ (which, by all appearances, is Christ-less) then youâre fucking-aye right Iâm antagonistic, there, Preacher Man.
When Iâm asked to prove god doesnât exist, I simply point out that if s/he did, s/heâd have already smitten the living shit out of these vile politicians who bring such disrepute to his/her name for the most misanthropic and vain of purposes.
Huck needs to read his little holy book again. No mention of a democracy there. The little holy book is all about a King and a Kingdom. Want a Biblical government? It will look a lot more like North Korea than the USA.
What does Huckabee say to all the voters who either donât subscribe to the same faith as he does or who may not believe in God? Shouldnât religion be kept out of government?
