Trump also knew that he was never going to compete with Hillary on substantive issues, or competence. He was always going to have to resort to dirty tricks.
What we learned today:

Corsi gets legal advice from Larry Klayman
Trump gets Brexit advice from Nigel Farage
Well, it worked for them, didn’t it?
That may depend on an outcome not yet determined.
I can’t help but to imagine the two of them cackling and making plans like Heckle and Jeckle.

One needs to take a long bath after just reading this. Corsi and Stone just cover themselves in slimy, week old garbage in mid summer temperatures, and then revel in it.
What I find most interesting about the email obsession is the total conviction that the public release of the emails would simply devastate Clinton because it would reveal her utter corruption. Kinda makes you want a peek at their own emails, no?
No matter what comes down the pike, they will still have the great success of the past two years: a right-wing majority on the court, massive tax cuts that will be difficult to reverse, destruction of the EPA and most Federal regulation, trashing of international agreements, and so much more.
I think they knew they would get their comeuppance eventually, but they don’t really care since they got so much in the interim. The right-wing court will be with us for a generation.
These quotes were made in reference to Clinton and the Democrats:
“…to be exposed as in bed w enemy…” and “…documentable financial ties to Russia…”
Their entire MO is to study what laws they are breaking and, using that as their seed stock, devise huge quantities of bullshit to propagate on their right-wing disinformation networks for years and years. Projection on steroids.
May they die in jail, sad and broken. For the highly damaging the treasonous individuals, may the be executed post haste.
As usual, conservative con artists got conned. There wasn’t a single thing released in the hacked emails of any real significance and there was no reason to think Hillary ever got hacked or had incriminating emails in the first place. It was just a mound of bullshit that Russia and Wikileaks wanted people to think was significant and they were so successful that most people still don’t realize that nothing important was leaked and it was all just a sham.
The funniest aspect of all this is that Stone, Corsi, and the Trumpers actually imagined Russia and Wikileaks needed their help figuring out when to release the emails, when the only reason they involved these fools was to implicate them while arranging a quid for the pro quo. These old farts still live in the 80’s and imagine they’re geniuses for knowing to release damning evidence right before an election.
Now they’ve been lying and peeing themselves ever since, all because they wanted to be players instead of letting the Russians do it themselves. Sad!
GOP “achievements” of the past two years are largely dross. A debt-to-GDP ratio of 335%, or about $66 trillion, without the promised growth needed to reduce that ratio. The right’s capture of the federal courts and supreme court seats has been impressive, but both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were installed through abuses of process, destroying the long-term credibility of institutions. John Roberts says as much. If you leave a reasonably motivated and intelligent canine at home unattended with an easy to open fridge, I’m sure the dog can produce a similar level of success in just 24 hours.
Pence has said he violated no Indiana laws. In March, for example, he said: “We had outside counsel review all of my previous email records to identify any that ever mentioned or referenced state business.”
Pence has also dismissed comparisons to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, which he heavily criticized on the campaign trail last year.
“There’s no comparison whatsoever between Hillary Clinton’s practice — having a private server, misusing classified information, destroying emails when they were requested by the Congress,” he said in March.
Makes me wonder who wrote this template for the GOP on using personal email as opposed to government email? You know because I heard/read almost the exact same langue recently.
You haven’t factored in that once their treason and criminality is common knowledge, the Republic Party will be pariahs for all but the brain-damaged and/or craven 20%. Huge changes will be made to recover these losses as a generation of majority Liberal-Center politicians reverse many of the ill-gained laws and punish the rampant criminal behavior. The taint of Republicism will stink for a generation or more.
If you’re (not you in particular) not working towards this outcome, then you’re doing it wrong.
Yeah like when did Stone and Corsi decide Trump was their guy.
You could take out Hillary’s name and add the 16 other Republicans that ran against him in the primary, because they stood up on those stages and flung poo at each other because of him.
Maybe Corsi will incriminate himself even more. I won’t watch it. We don’t have cable. Wonder if his buddy Larry Klayman will be there.
Let’s not forget the complicity of certain so-called “progressives” who used the emails as but one issue to demonize Hillary Clinton and engender the #NeverHillary movement.
These useful idiots certainly contributed to the election of Trump, the proto-fascist.
What’s truly dumb about these people is how obsessed they were with the October Surprise. The whole point of an October Surprise is that it’s a FAKE scandal, not a real one. If Hillary deleted 30,000 emails that incriminated her in all the various schemes they thought she was doing, they should be released as soon as possible so that everyone can see the truth and investigate.
But if all you’ve got is a fake scandal that the candidate can ride out, you release it right before the election so it overwhelms them and the truth doesn’t come out until it’s too late. Such as Comey telling America that he was reopening the email investigation due to new emails found on a scandalous computer that weren’t new at all. By the time the truth came out, it was too late.
The problem for these morons is that they honestly believed they’d find incriminating evidence in Hillary’s emails, yet still wanted to save them for the October Surprise. But if they had known how weak the emails were, they wouldn’t have incriminated themselves by trying to get them. They were so intent on dirty tricks that they ended up just playing themselves.
